So would this system not functioning properly cause a 'dead spot' in the power band between 3-4k rpms? The car then pulls fine past 4k to redline. I have the ACIS hooked up to the vacuum, but not to a VSV. I have several VSV's, but do not have a part number for which one is which. Any help on that?

Your best bet is to use a 2jzge from the same year IS300, but any MKiv Supra or Lexus with the 300 in its designation will work as the sensors and mounts are all almost identical and can be swapped from your old engine to the new without issues. The only difference is between the 2jz with and...

Turns out it was my wiring all along. Nothing was getting signal including the tachometer (was not jumping on cranking, I was mistaken previously). In the process of repair/replacement. I'll give you guys the outcome soon.

Haha! Sourced the issue with my car. Wiring harness for the engine. Everything is grounding out and messed up, so despite my best efforts at wiring it, something didn't work right. I need a good working harness for a 7mge if anyone has one. Pm me a price please. Hope all is well! : p

Still not 100% sure, and the move has been postponed for a few months. Getting things figured out. I've been good, just getting by until the next free day to work on the car and get her running. : )

I don't, but if it was bad wouldn't it not spark or weakly spark? It gets one strong spark per key turn. And the distro tested good according to the manual.

Ok, so no burnt wires, and tried the different stud (but that has never caused trouble before). I even tried a new ECU. Time to trace wires, again. Any particular fuses or little boxes I could replace? I checked them all and used a known working main relay - no change. Im going to go with a fuse...
