Ok, so I've been doing a little research lately and it turns out that the driving I do for Domino's (I deliver) in my own car is eligable for federal mileage compensation. I get paid a flat $0.95/delivery, unless I'm taking 2 or more deliveries at the same time which means I would get paid $0.95...
I finally got back to work on the Supra tonight. I made my life a lot easier and the work better/faster by buying a Delta belt/disc dual sander. I made the pieces to fill the ash tray hole, the hazzard switch hole, and the headlight squirter hole and Gorilla Glue'd them (curing now). I also...
Got the fog lights rewired finally and the wires all tucked up safely. Yesterday I bought a used alternator from a member on here since the one I bought is apparently the wrong one (sticks out too far). Gotta wait until Friday to go shopping for more shop supplies and a new belt sander and...
I'm somewhere over $50k. About $10-11k this year, $8k last year and another $7K the year before. Mind you I've redone a few things along the way (got about $3k into my headlights alone) and I've had some major problems and set backs the last 3 years. Reality of it, I've stopped counting and I...
I gave the wiring a rest today (mainly because the wiring kit I bought didn't make sense) and worked on my center console and DS switch panel covers. I got the panel cover cut out and Gorilla Glued to the DS switch panel and have a 10 lb weight resting on the back side of it to hold it down...
... When 2 of your friends aren't allowed to buy Supra's because their girlfriends don't want them to be like you and spend all their time/money working on the Supra.
... When your wife puts you on a budget for spending on your Supra
I replaced my stock alternator with one from an SC300 and I noticed that my alternator is sticking too far forward. When I say too far forward I mean that the belt is having to strain and go forward. I was thinking of trimming the mounting bracket for the alternator, but I'm sure there's gotta...
Well it's been a nice weekend. My dad and step-mom came up for the weekend and left early this morning (Sunday morning). Saturday I took my dad for a short spin up to the hardware store in the Supra and he discovered that my alternator is sticking about 1/8" forward of where it should be...
I think for now I'm just going to hold off on re-covering the center console and work on other projects. Atleast now I have an idea of what to expect in the future when I do get around to doing it atleast.
Eventually I'll be upgrading to HID projectors with D2S bulbs in them. For now I have to use what I have. Unfortunately, I can't go larger than a 50mm light because of size restrictions. As it is, I need to cut the upper bumper to allow for the full range of my lights to hit the ground.
As...
I have an obsession with lighting up the area where I'm driving and being seen at night. Most likely I'd just have 4 lights on at a time (either the low or high beams and the fogs). I currently have an electrical draw somewhere in my system so I need to fix that before I can test how much of a...
I want to put OEM yellow projector fogs from another car into the factory Supra fog light housings (giving them the appearance of being stock). I'm using the stock 100A alternator.
Yeah, but shipping would cost an arm and a leg. And I will be covering it in cloth so the CF isn't really needed. I'll get 2 center console pieces and use them to test on, see how well the materials bond and take to my mods.
Did some thinking yesterday, I should be able to rough up the stock parts with 40 grit then apply a fleece cloth and soak it in polyester resin and reinforce that with fiberglass matting where the holes are then bondo and sand the whole thing before sending it off to paint.
Does anybody know if you can remove the soft padding that covers the center console (both the piece that the stereo mounts into and the piece that the arm rest is mounted to)? I'm wanting a hard shell version of both to do some mods to and I think I can just remove the soft skins from them to...
