I say save some money and buy the BIC downpipe that already has a 3" elbow already welded on. I haven't used it but I have read a lot of of good things about the product. Thinking about doing it myself.

Stop on a slight decline. Put the car into neutral. Try to shift into first. Is it tough?? Now, let off of the brake pedal and try to put the car into first while the car is rolling from a stop. If it goes in easily, it's gotta be your first gear "synchronizer ring". (thank you johnathan)...

Sorry I can't compare the two. I've never had the t1r's myself, or know anybody that has them, or had them. But they have proven to be a good tire for me. $172.00 seems a bit high. Let me see what I can find here locally. IIRC I paid $600 for all four.
I have had the Toyo Proxes4 tires for about three years now and I think I will be getting another set here soon. They wear great, they are quiet, and are good in wet weather. I actually drive my car in the snow. Sure I get stuck if there is more than an inch, but that is why I have a truck...
