Steve, what made you decide on the Spec twin plate clutch? As a man with future clutch issues I have read a lot. How much torque can one hold? I too have thought about bushing replacement. I know Sean replaced some of them already.
It looks like you are upgrading big time. Yes, it is addicting.
Jeremy, Import shoot out was fun. Sean would dog it off the line because of poor traction. He would be at least 5 car lengths behind. When he stopped spinning, the 7m would reel'em right in. It was pretty funny to watch. Real pity he didn't keep the set up. I think the way he had it then and the...
Love my Wilwoods. Sean helped me find them on here. Stole them for $600. May need to do the rear MKIV mod yet.
Steve, you are right. We will see what Sean comes up with. If he get the V* in and with the turbo set up he wants, it will be a f**king monster. I hope he can afford brakes!!
Sean, If your gonna install that V-8, you had better start saving up now. I am sure buy now you wished you had kept the built 7M. My bet is mine will be faster most of the summer, by mid August, you will beat me, but it won't be by much.
So is there a consensus about a March meet? I wouldn't expect too many Supra as it is too early, but just get together in a bar and have a beer or 2 and talk Supra? I vote for Rogers or Maple Grove or perhaps St. Cloud? Any one got an idea of a day and a place? I can't be present on the weekend...
Mike, I my defense of such a crappy 1/4 mile time, as you know, it was my first time racing and we only had boost set at 20-21 lbs. Plus the day was cut short due to running out of light. Even with my old set up, withe 2 step and proper clutch drop, I should have been in the 11's.
Sean with...
Thanks for the compliment NewGen. I read your 1/4 mile time in your signature. I was nearly as fast as my 12.2. But my trap was 121. My 60 ft was 2.0 That was with my old GT35 and 20 lbs of boost. This year a lot more h/p and we will have the 2 step ready to rock. I was trying not to break her...
Sean, let's see how that e-mail you sent pans out before we make any big manifold plans. It will be quicker and a lot less work. Nice job today. Thanks.
Today Gary and I wrapped the manifold. It was a pain in the butt. We didn't go all the way up to the flange because we have a difficult enough time getting on the bolts even without wrapping. Later Sean and I (mostly Sean) bolted the manifold on and then the turbo. I have loaded a few pics. One...
I am just gonna wrap it and it she cracks and it's not easily repairable, I will get a different one. I have read on the other Supra forum the cast iron manifolds actually work great on mid level Supra's. Seems strange that a 700 h/p car is just considered moderate h/p.
WTF? Has it been a year. Damn, it just seems like a month ago. Any interested in a semi spring meet? It can be any where. We can use my garage if it's in the cards. Perhaps north end of cities at a restaurant or bar??
Thanks Steve, I also think it looks real nice. Comp did what they had promised me a year ago. Free billet upgrade and damn good price on the anti surge housing. Basically looks brand new.
IJ.- I looked at your link. They don't give those away!
Mike, I have thought of the coating, but its around $120 bucks. The manifold came with the car when I bought the black Supra from Casio. My thoughts are if it cracks, I will spend the cash and get a decent one. We only plan on 3/4...
Mike, yes, Shane will hopefully be tuning her late March or early April.
I.J. No, I do not. Where can I get one? I want those on tight and not coming loose.
Latest on my build. 2 weeks ago, we pulled off the Comp 67. We sent her back to Comp for the billet wheel they owed me and to get a anti-surge housing, and turbo check over.
Next we pulled off the exhaust manifold. I had several exhaust leaks last summer. The manifold was planed flat. It was...
Steve My view regarding the A1000 is that it is loud, otherwise very happy.
BTW, is anyone interested in a mid winter Supra owners meet? My garage is heated and big enough. If we have the right timing, we could install the new hoist I am ordering. Typically having a few pairs of extra...
Mike, that's a good idea. She should be done by then and filled with 2 Supras, my truck plus at least 4 motorcycles. Damn, I already need a bigger garage!!!
Mike,
My brother was likely in the shop. We are working on building the last 2 work benches and the welding bench, along with finishing up the bathroom. The heater should be hung on Tuesday and from there we just need to permanetly mount the compressor and plumb the air lines. It has taken a...
