i do have a aftermarket stereo and i checked for the wire and i think i found it it was orange and had a black stripe, but that was not the problem.it turns out it was a fuse FACE PALM.thanks for the help ians13.

i would say that seems about right.my moms high pressure line on her 89 had a small leak, so i priced out all new hoses.the high pressure hose was 60$ and the other 2 were 25$,that lead me to believe the other two lines werent as heavy duty as the "high pressure line"
