    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Hi Josbeat, From what I've read your diffuser should lessen the turbulence of the air off the rear of the car. For example:

A design change was made and I ordered a custom wing from APR Performance a GT-250 Carbon wing 61" wide and 10" cord length with custom mounting to align with the rear bumper supports in the frame rail: A plate will be welded that the aluminum risers will be bolted to, so that the risers will...

These were helpful in me deciding to make a couple of design changes to the carbon wing risers VIP Performance is fabricating. The result will be a more professional fit and finish and less DIY looking. The new design will hide all the bolts and mounting hardware and look more like this:

I didn't know that was how they are set up... Phillip at VIP Performance is the design and fabrication guy at VIP, it was his doing. That makes me feel more like the car is in good hands after all. Thanks!

The Megan aluminum wing was too heavy, so the APR GT-250 carbon wing will replace it. Megan 56" = 20Lbs, APR 61" = 7Lbs.

Not on the hatch, as it would break the carbon fiber deck. Its mounting flanges will be welded to the two plates (in the pics), and extending out four inches then two risers are bolted to the flanges raising the wing 12 inches above the hatch deck, so the wing gets more clean air. Once it's...

More gradual progress pics: In the first two are the plates the wing supports are mounted to. The third is just a pic of the quality of the hood from Carbon Creations.

Might we also consider adding an Open Track Day at PIR on Sunday for those of us who like to drive at speed on the road course? I see on the PIR event calendar that the Porsche Club is holding a Track Day that Sunday, June 8th.

    ffim discussion

I would be interested in the ffim only, w/ mounts for both the stock throttle and isc valve. Where I reside, the labor rate for custom fabrication is $100/Hr.

I see where the question comes from,,, PacNW Nationals is usually in June or July and Centralia in May.

I just got the BIC DDP ceramic coated and the turbo rebuild is on its way back from Albert. I'll be delivering the DDP on Thursday and paying on the work already done. I'll take a few pictures and post them here on Thur or Fri.

    What is/are your 2014 Supra goal(s)?

This years goals are to finish the conversion of the Supra to a Track Ready GT car with a Roll Bar installed, all the aero bits working properly and the loss of another 200Lbs (20 off me and 180 off the Supra). Then take it out to several track days around PIR (our local raceway), for some test...

    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Josbeat, U know that the semi wets or full wets get greasy on dry pavement and have a shorter life span on dry pavement. I would continue to look at more slick manufacturers until U find the correct tire for U. It may still be out there. What tire brands have U looked at? I too find it...

Ceramic thermal barrier coatings; I've always sent the parts out to get done professionally. I would encourage U to explore UR options. Noting UR abilities already very high, U might try coating and baking on the coatings, albeit, the oven would need to be large.
