    The Mistress

So, I dropped out my rear subframe today, with some help from a couple local guys, Mihir and Tommy. You guys rock, thanks for all the muscle! Why would I do such a thing, you ask? Well, I've had a crack in the usual spot, near the passenger side front differential bolt, for a couple years...

Yes... they dim a bit, then flicker once, and go off. On the plus side, there's no power drain by comparison - you could leave them on for a month, and still start the car, I bet - and they produce bugger all in the way of heat. Local guy here hooked me up. There's a bunch of local vendors...

How to identify the culprit behind power steering problems

Agreed. This is a fine example of how to finish off a thread so that it will be useful for future reference.

1JZ Trying for 600hp on pump

Rumor has it there are some extenuating circumstances around that engine... including a 150 shot of nitrous, 38lbs of boost, and near 9000rpm. You can make power on any engine, the true test is whether you can make it last.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

LOL - yes, I've still got two cars. Both are 1989 dark blue cars, the hardtop has a 7M with all the creature comforts still - A/C, cruise, etc. The targa has the 2J, and isn't midnight blue anymore, it's been repainted the stellar blue from the 2001+ Toyotas. I'm still working on both of them...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

And what I did to the Supra today... showing some love for the 7M car. Strut bar to lean on while working on the engine... refinished the ends, polished the bar itself, and picked up some SS hardware to replace the rusted steel stuff... painted some valve covers black, then filed down the...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Holy... you'd actually consider that process? Ouch. Take the wheel center cap off, lay it flat on the bench. Thin out some paint - I use 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Fill an eye dropper and drop into the Toyota lettering. Let it dry, repeat if required.

How to identify the culprit behind power steering problems

Just checking... it is running auto transmission fluid in there, not power steering fluid, right? Power steering fluid does odd things to our system, it's designed for ATF.

    Driving from Montreal to Calgary

Well, there is Toronto. Other than that, you'll get used to never ending fields of wheat after a while.

    Back again

One of the most devious methods is to break into your car during the day, snag your registration papers and your garage door opener, then drive to the house listed on the papers, open the door using the remote, drive into the garage, close the door, and break into the house at their leisure...

Another Nutjob... Mass shooting in Colorado

No problem, I'm perfectly willing to tie those fuckers to a chair in a house and light it on fire.

    Why a 1JZ Flywheel with an R154?

Or in other words, you need to buy a flywheel for the engine, but the disk / pressure plate are purchased for the transmission.

Another Nutjob... Mass shooting in Colorado

On reading this a second time, one things sticks out... who brings a three month old baby to see the opening night of a Batman film? That's hardcore.

No cold winters here... our temps rarely drop below freezing. Actually, below 38F is rare.

coolant being pushed out only under load

Also, the siphon hose in the overflow tank must be pristine... if there is a hole in it, it'll suck air back in instead of coolant, and eventually your bottle will fill up. Think of trying to suck through a straw with a crack in the straw.
