It's effects are marginal...not worth the removal of metal....you may think that it "cools" more but the facts are that the areas cut away heat up faster and cause more negative issues than good! 1 Flutes do not make the barrel stiffer. 2 They do not cool it better infact you can over heat one...

Sorry but that's an urban legend...flutes do not make the barrel stiffer nor do they help cooling....infact they do more damage than good! Removing material is removing material and it's never a good thing! That's like saying a block of aluminum is weaker than an aluminum heat sink of equal...

Are you 100% sure you don't have an ar-10? You can't load that round threw an ar15 lower as the round is to long to fit in the mag well. If indeed you have an ar15 lower you can get uppers from: Larue tactical Spikes tactical Bravo company USA Daniels defense Bushmaster Etc etc Or...

Clp is supposed to dry out but leaves a slick residue....it's ok for guns that are subject to sand etc as dirt doesn't stick to it but it's poor lube for guns that need to be taken care of and don't have a constant supply of new parts such as the military weapons. I recommend mil-comm gun...
