Not to take this thread too far off topic but:
It sounds like you ran the injector setup wizard. That should change only the battery offset table (ie injector response time). It does not rescale your fuel map. For that you will need to right click on the fuel map and select 'Change...
This is about the worst thing anyone could do to their car or recommend to another, IMO. The OP has a block off plate installed so it should be easy to put the IAC back on. From the ignition settings it seems he has an AEM EMS which is setup to use the stock IAC in the startup calibration. It...
Jon, I figured you didn't post the timing map in excel intentionally to encourage others to find it themselves. Posting or sending it would be most appreciated.
Kai, what is your goal? The stock ignition system is good to near 1000 hp.
I and others I know have actually had good luck with this setup. We've had a few rebuilt by RPS and always have the dual diaphragm pinned (My RPS CC was pinned and rebalanced when I last had the trans out). Clutch pedal has always felt good (albeit a little stiffer than stock when new, but...
I figure this by having built and owned many turbo cars. The OP stated goals of 450-500rwhp, attainable with a much smaller turbo providing a much wider power band. IE more "suitable street turbo" and less "dyno queen turbo" than a 67mm. IE less lag, more fun.
A motor swap is infinitely more difficult than getting the 7M head to seal. If it's your only vehicle and you need it to get around, you should take the advice of others here and see if you can get away with a stock head gasket on what you have now or have it remachined. Putting it plainly, if...
Just remember there is no need to open the a/c or power steering systems. The a/c compressor can usually be carefully balanced on the sway bar and crossmember before pulling the motor. Do the same with the ps pump and bungee/wire the resevoir up on the inner fender. Just be sure to keep an eye...
AMP Multilock, now owned by Tyco. Terminals arrived but haven't had a chance to compare and test fit against the original harness. Side by side with the terminals AEM provided, they should fit. The AEM terminals aren't exactly the same as the OE terminals, anyways.
BTW, it was over $30 to get...
I just placed an order elsewhere for a couple of different contacts. If either fit I'll let you know the p/n. As I have a 92T these will fit the later mk3 harness.
Exactly why I ended up using a heat gun on painted surfaces. It's not a spray on wait 5 mins and rinse off method, but every chemical product I tried turned the towel pink.
My red '92 had black cosmoline throughout the engine bay. It took a couple of hours to remove it (including unbolting...
A heat gun and a plastic scraper works well to remove cosmoline wax and other hardened grease. Just don't get it so hot that you burn the paint. I resorted to this method when most every chemical ended up showing 3E5 paint on the towel. It was a little more time consuming but in the end...
