Welcome David.
Do some searching around on the forums - You'll quickly find out how much information
there really is to know about your car. :)
Post some pictures!
Jeff
There's a lot of Supra activity down your way...
So, when you're ready for a teardown/build, be sure to use the boards
as well as the local Supra owners to give you a helping hand.
Other than that, Good luck - And welcome to SM. :)
Jeff
Crazy part about an AMG car that I've noticed is that regardless of what speed
you're traveling at, you can be cruising at 100MPH and feel like you're strolling
through a neighborhood at 40MPH.
They are definitely fast.
And, there's never anything wrong with "betting a little money"...
Good job? :dunno:
Did I not iterate already that the lowest dB-rated catback exhaust was installed on the car during this video?
I'm happy for you that your car sounds like a truck...
But I kept it quiet, simple & clean with this exhaust.
And I assure you, with open cutout & 50MM HKS...
Been using & have used XSPower manifold(s) for a while.
Absolutely ZERO complaints other than clearance issues with, well, "big" turbo's. ;)
I had some clearance issues with the compressor housing hitting the manifold,
but nothing a spacer couldn't fix.
This comment will not apply with...
I've seen very successful results going both ways...
But I too, am curious as to which is better for the car/tuning, etc.
Or if it's just personal preference.
Jeff
I've had a few people ask me before what a 1.5JZ-GTE sounds like...
So I made a short video, for sound purposes mainly, to anyone curious.
Note - This is with a super silent Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion. ;)
Only running 10PSI in this video...So don't expect anything special...
Do you want me to punch you in the face, Ian? :biglaugh:
Valge, You really expect me to tell you that Kimchi is a rotten-ass cabbage Korean side dish that leaves Boost Lee drooling on site? ;)
I'm sure the miscellaneous hose clamps were from "beginning" stages of tear-down/inspection. ;)
"Curse of the Red X" is a common picture error that's displayed when it's not posted properly. It was fixed earlier, so no need to worry about that. :)
Jeff
Edited your post to move pictures in the OP.
I'd say you just walked away with the Deal of the Year award. :aigo:
I would've paid $400 for a clean rolling '90 shell, just because I'm all about that extra little rarity value.....let alone a complete car.
Congratulations on your purchase...
You've earned yourself more respect here than you may have realized.
I surely hope to see you floating around from time to time, still.
If not, farewell. And thanks a million for the great work & time spent. :)
Jeff
Mike - I'm sort of bottling all the information up right now until everything is 100% completely laid out on the table.
At this point, it's not even so much at my discretion, but rather all of the other guys that are helping with the planning/organizing.
But I will say that you will not...
Being the smart ass that I am to ignorant people, I shamelessly said this one time to a kid at an auto parts store - I couldn't hold myself together. :biglaugh:
Glad I could be of assistance to your comedic needs. :naughty:
I can't believe how often I'm hearing/seeing this...
