I've seen an 89 white package supra around the greentown/north canton area multiple times now. It appears to be stock. Is it anyone on here? Looks to be in pretty good condition.
Thanks IBoughtASupra. I'm thinking of going with the MKIV mounts now, but I do want it to be nice and solid so I'll probably add a BIC torque damper as well.
Their cinnamon butter/rolls and onion blossoms would make an entire meal for me. :)
Never heard of smokeys dyno, but I've heard good things about slowmotion motorsports. I wouldn't mind making the drive for a good tune.
I didn't realize you have experience rebuilding R154s! I'll definitely...
Ah I'm out your way when we go to Texas Roadhouse :)
I tuned my 57 trim myself and got a decent tune out of it. I'll probably give this a safe base tune but take it to someone who can safely max out its potential on pump gas. I'll be looking for someone who has experience with a Maft Pro come...
While it's true the redline on the ECUs was higher, since they don't have all of the counterweights I've heard they aren't as smooth as the 7M crank at higher RPMs. The only real "issue" I've heard is that at very high RPMs (7.5K+) for extended periods of time it may wear the bearings more (via...
No replies!? I thought everyone loved a good engine teardown... :)
New parts starting to come in! Eagle rods and Fidanza adjustable cam gears. I was hesitant about the Eagle rods initially, but they have supposedly stepped up their quality. They all seem machined very well and all weighed...
^^ This is what I've noticed too (assuming you have a code 52 that is...). Though most of the time on these cars it's just the knock sensor wiring that could use a refresh with shielded cable.
I'd go with Fidanza. I have a set, and while I haven't used them yet they are made in the USA and seem like they are good quality. OBX is usually knockoff stuff from China. Best price I found new was at TH Motorsports:

Not really IMO. Sure the bolt might make it "semi-solid" but only for tensile forces on the mount. All other directions I would think the polyurethane would take the stress. I could be wrong though.
Sure, it's not going to literally fall out, but I'd rather it not wipe out some stuff in the...
I'm looking for some polyurethane motor mounts, and haven't had much luck finding ones for 89-92s. BIC only makes them for 86.5-88s. Without getting some custom made, I have found these so far:
