Why not look for a good GE head? It'll work fine. I ran one on my 86.5 with gte swap. You can swap the intake cam out with your gte one but you might have to do some re-shimming. I think the ge cam will work ok for you since your power goals aren't crazy.

Well I had those supposedly replaced by the machine shop when having the head machined. When I was doing a start up after getting the engine back in, it tapped real bad and was missing then suddenly stopped and smoothed out. I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. I think a valve...
Here's a video of me starting the car up for the first time in over a week. What you'll see is typical even if just sitting overnight. It was fairly warm this morning so the car did not stutter like it does on cold mornings.
