    Help! Supra doesn't run right

In my experience, one common thing that does not throw a code is a vacuum leak. It's probably a silly question now, but I don't suppose you might have a vacuum leak somewhere?

    Help! Supra doesn't run right

Well, the CEL flashing constantly with TE and E jumpered is exactly that check, AFAIK. The error codes are very specific. If you have a problem the Toyota engineers didn't foresee in ~1985 when they designed the diagnostic portion of the ECU then there won't be a code. Modern engines have gotten...

    Help! Supra doesn't run right

I believe that square wave looking thing at 5 o'clock on your voltmeter is the frequency setting. On one hand, seeing an engine bay that rough makes me cringe... on the other I'm jealous because you can make it so much better with just a bunch of factory used parts. I get some weird...

Project Ookii Ao: Road to 500whp

Yeah, filming is the easy part. It's the editing that I can never get to. I've probably got dozens of hours of footage I'll never edit to make a worthwhile video. I've got AC service footage, T-belt, Intake refurb, valve shim adjustment, etc... What has been really nice though, is that on...

    Where did everyone go?

I think rust is a big player in that where you are. Every time I travel to the midwest or east coast I think it's amazing how new all the cars are. I will never forget my first work trip out of college up to upstate New York. I saw current generation cars with rusted through fenders. That just...

    Where did everyone go?

I still watch for clean 91-92s to come up for sale. I check around here, autotrader, cars.com, craigs, etc... It's very rare for one to pop up for sale that's a factory turbo manual 91/92. I feel like they used to be readily available, but definitely not anymore. I also very rarely see any mk3...

You mention a lot of checks, but have you pulled codes?

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Ken, your car is yet again the benchmark as far as I'm concerned. That fitment looks absolutely perfect. I was going through pages and pages of this thread trying to find good looking fitments and I think the search is done for me - this is all I needed to see. On top of that, you don't even...

ADVICE NEEDED - Strongly Considering Selling my Supra

Sorry to hear about the mechanic. That's terrible. For the car, I would see what's needed to revert to stock electronics/ECU. With all those goodies in the engine you're going to lose a LOT of money just because it won't run. I think it would also be more than worth your time to invest in...

2JZ/MK3/8.8 8 sec street car build.

Holy crap. I had not seen this before. Really neat to see that come together!

    Bad turbo seals

I'd always aim to get the smallest turbo that meets your goal with reasonable efficiency. Any excess size in the wheel just creates extra lag and lessens the overall driving experience, IMO. Only get what you're going to actually use. I ran 10-13 psi (stock intercooler couplers kept popping...

    Bad turbo seals

One of my old CT26's had failing oil seals and the telltale sign for me was the smoke on deceleration if I kept it in gear coming to a stop. Replaced it with a Driftmotion 50 trim and the problem was solved and I got a small improvement in potential power.

Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

Not knowing much about the design process of SP's turbo-making myself, I guess I'm surprised SP has a casting different from the CT26, but still bolt on and doesn't produce flow data or a map for buyers. They obviously invested some serious work on it, right? Perhaps this all leads to bigger...

Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

That's such a shame. That's a pretty essential part of the turbo decision in my mind. A single number HP goal (with no mention of RWHP or BHP) is pretty meaningless if you really want to size your turbo correctly. I'm trying to find the best solution for 500rwhp, but I don't want something...

Looks like my turbo is a goner, what are some good options?

Do you know if they have compressor maps available for the SP bolt on turbos? Is it similar enough to another map to just assume they're the same? I've been trying to nail down my turbo choice, but haven't seen many maps for anything bolt on.

Climate control modules between model years

Yes, I believe so. 100% plug and play as I understand.

    Interest in Polycarbonate Rear Window?

This is one of those things that I'm interested in, but realistically wouldn't have the money for (assuming I have a clue what it costs...). What are we talking here? How much?

For those of you that have multiple Supras

I've had multiple cars for the last 10 or so years. During that time I've had multiple MK3s a few different times. One always got neglected and both suffered a slower progress. I've never even been close to having one "finished" mk3. While the appeal of multiples cars is hard to ignore, the...

What is the stock intertcooler size for a 90 Supra Turbo?

Great info, Nick, thanks! After reading that, I feel like I've read that before. It's impressive that they saw a drop in pressure loss AND a big increase in efficiency. I just wish those figures were correlated with flow rates and were also available with most new intercoolers.
