yeah, sorry to rain on your parade man. im sure youre pretty excited about your first (?) car being a supra. if you want, just clean it up and do a feww little things like an intake and exhaust. enjoy the car for what it is and see if you can make a little more money on it when you sell it. then...
lol.. the turbos. HOLY Shizzle. try taking the stock twins off a MKIV without CUTTING OR BENDING anything... then come talk to me. sweet jesus, those are days i wish i could unlive.
avoid armorall like the plague. im going to assume since you used it on buttons, that you also use it on the rest of the interior... that stuff saps the natural solvents in the materials and actually dries out the vinyls and leathers.
yes they are. even just a new 245/45/17 is ~25lbs alone. now imagine people like me, with forged wheels and 255/35/18's and 295/30/18's. They aint Mags, but i keepem clean!
eric has a good point. thats why they 07+ diesels are under much more strigent standards. Any diesel powered vehicle produce jan 07 or later is succeptible to a HEFTY fine if caught Sooting. in all honesty, i Like the Soot. i think its cool and funny. i KNOW its bad for me, bad for you and bad...
the sawblades are "classic" but i wouldnt go so far as to say its pleasing to the eye. some things will just have an intrinsic value, regardless of how hideous or unstylish they may be. a Porsche 914 is one of those... and lets be honest, its NOT a good looking car! a White package supra w/...
now that aaron mentions it... it seems as though broken bolts and broken 7M's have the same thing in common; Torque!
that must be why 1jz's dont break; Not-torque! bwahahahaha!
theres some nice looking exhausteses in this thread. looks like pretty much everyone bought a kit of some sort; either bolt on or weld-together.
i only counted a handful who bought raw materials made theirs from scratch. Major Kudos to you hard core Fabbers!
here are some pics of mine...
lol... on a C4?! man, if they arent tryin to Church it up... i dont know what would be. ahh... the C4; the Redneck ferarri!
(the Redneck corvette: 3rd Gen Camaro)
(the Redneck Camaro: G-body!)
lol... well i havent broken anything (when tightening) in ages. ive got a good touch now. ive broken things when removing, but mostly stuff that is in an open hole and rusted threads, like bolts going into the bumper beam and such.
yeah, thats the one. they get up and go, considering how heavy they are. my car doesnt really dispatch them all to easily from a dig. i mean, ill pull on it, but its not an ass-whooping. if that motor puts a Double-cab 4x4 short bed into a 14.7, imagine would it would do in a standard cab 2wd...
they wouldnt let me pick up the wheels at the st. pete gran prix. i wanted to steal the mono-lug BBS meshies in the Audi pit. those wheels are SO bad ass. IRL/F1 wheels are 15x12 iirc. those are BBS too. oh, and the brake pads are Performance Friction, same as Auto Zone carries. but Auto zone...
yeah, i dont want those holes in my lip. the only reason id want open holes in the front of my car is for brake ducts. but i dont ahve those, so no holes for me.
lol... i dont torque anything that is smaller than a 17mm socket, except head studs. those are only 9/16".
when you get enough expereience, you know when yous hould stop turning. i usually only go another 1/8 turn after the bolt/nut stops turning, at least for non-critical, non-load bearing...
lol... fate rewards the adventurous.
im sure the UR would be a tight fit since its a 4cam but 400lb/ft stock is worth it. if it can put a 7000lb truck into the 14's, it oughta do wonders for something half the weight!
yeah, thats pretty much what i said earlier...
the moroso episode of All Out didnt air for months after it was filmed. there doesnt seem to be any mention of a Supra and a chevelle on their website
why do you guys keep talkinga bout the 1uz...or UZ for that matter? you do know there is an engine out there that is light years better than the UZ, right? if i put a V8 in my Supra, its going to be an UR, with long tubes, X pipe and Dumps... FTW of course. Lest we forget, TRD has a Supercharger...
