Shocks do nothing but dampen the springs, struts are structural.
By that definition, we have struts as the spring is mounted to them making them structural.
We don't have McPherson struts though.
Keep in mind the cars you're comparing the supra to are both big displacement NA cars with chassis that aren't nearly as good.
Basically, because they're loud and a bit scary to drive, they have more drama and feel faster.
It's why an old Miata feels like a rocket ship with the top down...
No way a brake light switch could cause it... No car that I know has a brake light relay either. It's an issue with the sockets would be my guess. Though wiring issues are really easy to diagnose with the right tools...
There's a gearbox in it. While not as critical to grease as modern cheap and lightweight cable driven regulators, it's still a good idea.
Realigning isn't too hard and the only way to really clean the old grease out is to remove the assembly. Not a fun job, but worth the effort if you want...
Shin-etsu silicone grease is the good stuff. Buy it at your local Honda dealer.
Doing it properly requires removing the regulator (you want to regrease the motor too, right?)

Hmm... looking at the pictures it looks like the inner tire rods might be longer than normal. If that was the case you could cut them down to the right length so long as there's still enough thread to use.
Outside of that, no idea what's going on...
Dunno why you think 130K miles is high. It's not, it's low as hell for a Toyota motor.
The stock cooler is a pressure based bypass cooler. In other words, when pressure is high enough, oil is diverted to the cooler and it bypasses the motor and goes straight to the pan. You already get a...
