Confirmed to be one of the hybrids... square motor mounts and gray ECU plugs (half old half new). I unfortunately think this thread may have some more questions added to it soon.
and here is a pic rom Jason T (on this forum), that is a conversion plug from the yellow plug to the grey plug...
I started wiring the 7M into my project and ran into some issues. I found out that 1989 is the freak year for wiring... mine has half the 89 features and a few old ones still.
I need to tap into two wires in the C1 connector, which is a round gray connector on pre 89s and a square yellow one...
My wheel/tire combo is way too heavy for any good E/Ts... (1000+lbs)
this thread is sooooooooo OT
Anyone know the mystery plug or the two single wire sensors/switches on my coolant housing? (both have pics in the first post on page one).
Oh I will take it to the track. I want to race a junk modded N/A DSM followed by an equally modded 90s civic with a 1.5.... This rig otta be able to do 17s and destroy them.
I paid like 180 or so for my head surface, crank polish/inspection, block surface, block inspection, and hot tank treatment. Surfaces were done to better than 10 RA. There was only 2 or 3 machine shops in my town though... might make prices higher.
those quotes are ludacris. find another place.
Yeah still 4wd. With 1.5 transfer cases. I have one 4 wheel drive selector and two low ranges.
So do both VSVs have the puck shaped filter? THat would make it REALLY easy to get another one.
THanks for the answers guys! I really appreciate it.
LEft side (called TSRM), is my attempt to represent the vacuum/fuel diagram on mage FI-3 in the TSRM. It shows two vacuum ports, but the VSV really has 3. This is for the fuel pressure regulator VSV. AFter some digging I found this other thread...
From the sketches here, it looks like the...
A/C fans? I do not have A/C. I am converting to an electric fan though. I would REALLY like to use stock stuff on the motor to operate my relay... I am broke right now and don't want to spend $33 on a darn fan switch.
Other info- I have no A/C system at all, and I have nothing left of the...
The arrow is showing air flow from the BOV, as an optional recirculation (since it is not required with this setup). THe BOV pipe in the pic is connected to the last bend before the TB.
Original post edited, Conclusions thus far: No post turbo AFM, accordion hose vaccum is P/S (I don't have...
I talked to titan on the phone. Their gaskets are very similar to Cometic gaskets. I have a Cometic installed. But I haven't ran the engine yet. I recommend Cometic though.
In case anyone forgot the project... here are a few old pics:
Custom hybrid tranny
First rebuild I have done
Old pic, half done (yes, the fenders are now cut way above the tires). Garage look different? This is after the move.
Hey guys. 89 turbo 7M, all stock except air/coolant plumbing, resides in an 88 4runner. Removed- Charcoal can (I will get a vented gas cap), EGR (in the way of firewall), of course EGR VSV is also removed, and blockoff plates were fabricated and installed. I was working about 300 miles from my...
