    HI-Flow Catalytic converter question...

On the idea of two cats, I have also wondered about this. Before I purchased the random tech cat that I have the rep suggested that I go with the 5" body instead of the 4" body if I had room under the car because it would do a better job of cleaning the exhaust. I still went with the 4" and...

    HI-Flow Catalytic converter question...

I think you may be backwards on this....... "Ethanol blends increase NOx emissions but significantly decrease carbon monoxide emissions. A 10 percent ethanol blend contains 3.5 percent oxygen, which reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 15 percent or more." By using a 10% ethanol blend...

Visiting MN for business Sept 14th-26th

Hey fellas, I am in MN for a business trip for the next two weeks, which means I will be here over the weekend (Sept 20th and 21st). If there is anything going on or if anyone wants to meet up for dinner I'd be down. I could also help out if someone needs a hand swapping a motor or...

    Thinking about moving to Colorado

I live in the Denver area and it is awesome! The weather is great and there is always something to do if you like outdoors stuff. Cost of living is a bit higher than most other places but is inline or slightly less than most big cities. If you are looking for a 1000 sqft condo to buy for...

    HI-Flow Catalytic converter question...

It's no big deal really. The suggestion was to use a higher ratio of alcohol (ethanol) to lower emissions. The problem is that I failed NOx, not HC or CO. Most people pass NOx and fail the other two, but my car runs lean instead of rich. If I were to use a higher ethanol concentration my NOx...

    HI-Flow Catalytic converter question...

The random tech works great. I have the same cat, but I welded mine into my 3" DP. I nearly passed emissions with one on my 1JZ yesterday. I was at 0.52 (limit 2.5) for HC, 0.8951 (limit 20.0) for CO, and 5.57 (limit 4.0) for NOx. I have a 1JZ with a SAFC2, but there was not any correction...

    1JZ Compressor Surge!!!

I had that BOV on another car (RX7) and loved it. IIRC a post TB vacuum line needs to to hooked to the top nipple and a line from near the compressor should be hooked to the bottom. Is that how you have it? Sorry I don't know enough specifics about the 1J yet to referrence exact vacuum...

    Non VVTI vs VVTI

Maybe that lower rotational weight is a good thing? The lighter rod is better in EVERY aspect for a stock motor, which is what they are producing. There are way more advantages to going with the lightest rod possible AS LONG AS it is strong enough vs. overbuilding. Just a thought, maybe you...

    Hey

I don't have a supra, but probably will someday. I currently have an RX7 and a deal worked out with a buddy to trade my Mazda for his Supra. My Mazda has a custom motor with a Haltech and Precision T63. I did all the work on the car and I have owned it for 7 years. The Supra has a stock 1JZ...
