I have power seats in my 1987, I think it came with the "Sport package"

It has MANY different settings.

1. Electric - entire seat forward
2. Electric - entire seat backwards
3. Electric - ass rest, angled upwards
4. Electric - ass rest, angled downwards
5. Electric - lumbar support out
6. Electric - lumbar support in
7. Electric - seat hugs and holds you
8. Electric - seat doesn't hug and hold you
9. Manual - Back part of seat leans forward
10. Manual - back part of seat leans forward
11. Manual - headrest forward
12. Manual - headrest backward

This is one of the most comfortable seats I sit it, never change to a racing seat unless you are actually racing.

i don't ever intend on getting stupid racing seats lol i wuv my 35odd kg seats haha

so you have up/down rear and up/down front on the "ass" section lol?

reason i ask is i was looking at the epc and i can't see the other shaft which controls the rear up/down but i could see 3 motors, so it made sense to me that you did have it but it just wasn't shown in the epc diagram

i found the plastic winder that the shaft goes through for the rear of my seat to go up and down had been broken so i've been going through the mission of repairing that, talk about effort required to fix one little plastic winder LOL

oh and if you're curious only the ga70 import or new zealand or australian new came with manual seats, or those silly turbo R's that have no toys haha ;)

I think most US cars got electric seats. I have heard of a few with manual but I am not sure if it was factory or added on later.

i just bought a 90t that has manual seats excepts for the lumbar adjustments, but they are not the original seats that came in the car. they are still supra seats just cloth instead of leather. this is my third supra and the first one ive had without full electric drives seat.

in my '88, they were semi- electric. the ajustments for the bottom of the seats were manual. but for the back support, and moving forward was all electric!
of course now my seats are fully manual, having fallen on a pair of practiclly new turbo-r recaro seats!!:icon_bigg

interesting, at least toyota didn't really change the seats, wouldn't surprise me if they decided that they would change one part just to be different lol

i'm gonna tackle the motor again this morning as i think i broke it last night LOL
So diassembly of front of seat required again haha

soooooooo bags not doing that again, vertical motor replacement sucks
Turns out i didn't break it phew! haha, the metal bush on the shaft which is the stopper had been deformed from the motor being overwound which then chewed teeth out inside the top of the motor.
I think there was something wrong with the part in the motor that detects resistance and automatically stops.

So i've replaced the shaft, bushes and motor with another good one and now it's working :D

But yea, def not again haha

You see, the reason why i really really needed it working is coz i'm a shortass and i couldn't see over the bonnet properly LOL

-Seat, entire Forward/Back
-Seat recline Forward/Back
