You ready to do some racing?

Altamont motorsports has gotten the 'ok' to hold drag, drift, and auto-x events at the local tracy municipal airport. the first event is set for the 13th of july. I have no idea what event its going to be. but here are the ideas on pricing. 2 practices a month, along with 2 competitions a month.

practices - 25~
competition - 50-100 (depends on event)

so this your chance to have some fun and push your car as far as it can go (maybe even further!!!!) and the best of all, its LEGAL. you WILL need a snell 95 or newer helmet, and passengers are ok.

when i get more details i'll post them up asap.
PM me or post up here if you wanna meet at the local mall and we can all cruise to the event on the 13th. we could even do a BBQ. just need to know how many people are coming. And we could probably throw it at my house, since i have a pool, and a pool table :biglaugh:

well, it looks like they cancelled out again. Guees it's postponed till early august.
I've got a group of people ready to go for whenever they decide what's really going to happen.

were having a meetin at altamont either tomorrow, or next friday, not really sure. but my friend, whos on the 'board' with TTT, said its an informational meeting, but im sure they'll be askin for ideas.

im just mad theres not more drag racing...

I hear ya. I'm also kind of dissapointed that they don't even seem interested in doing rally either. I wanna drift too, but it's a little expensive blowing through tires all the time. I already go through them fast enough as is.

were having a meeting at altamont motorsports, and i'll ask why drag racing was thrown to the back burner. i think the big thing is that...

1) its mostly drifters running the thing
2) this was started mostly because drifting was 'banned' from altamont
3) safer because kids dont go as fast (its not a real race track so no 80mph drifting)

we'll see how it all turns out though, i still love to see some good drifting, even some of the amatuers are pretty good, but like you, i have no intention in competing, i would rather race down the street than go blow through half my tires life span in a day.

that pretty much sums it up. I don't really feel lke roasting my $600 tires off in my $400 supra. But it dosen't mean i won't do it in my dad's car. lol.

speaking of roasting tires I got a line on $15 used tires. One of my friends buys them all the time for drifting.
