Its those damn Christian conservatives trying to rule this country and push their values on everyone.
As opposed to the communist liberals who enslave you with welfare money taken from MY wallet in order to keep you under their control. Given the choice, I choose the ten commandments over the communist manifesto.

It doesnt help that we have a President that apparently thinks he's "God's" emmisary and thinking that he is carrying out "God's will" by forcing democracy( ahem Iraq) and Christian values ( anti- stem cell reasearch, anti-gay marriage etc..) on everyone.
Most Chrisitans try to be "God's emmisary" by acting like Jesus would in love and compassion and forgiviness. Just like the innocent nun who was murdered by muslims recently, and forgave her killers on her death bed. As for Iraq, I say better to battle them on their turf instead of my backyard. As far as stem cell research goes, only GOVERNMENT FUNDING of EMBRIONIC stem cell research was halted. Stem cells can be harvested quite easily from places other than embryos, like umbilical cords for example. If you want to research stem cells then go right ahead because THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST IT! Why do you think gays want to marry? There are churches that will marry gays, but that's not what they want. They want to be recognized by government so that goverment benefits reserved for married couples can be had by gay couples. Case in point- Gerry Studds, the first openly gay congressman married his boyfriend Dean Hara in 2004 when it was legal in Massachusetts. Hara has learned he is not eligible for any portion of Studds’ estimated annual $114,337 pension following his partner’s death last week. Hara is going to sue the government for the pension and the ACLU is looking at helping him. From the looks of it, your point of view is that it's OK to take money out of my pocket to pay for things that violate my religious beliefs. That is not the principal that this country was founded on.

The 9th Circuit kicks ass! If it wasnt for them, we wouldnt have people with enough balls to "legally" stand up to the Conservatives that apparently run this country.
The Ninth circuit court is the most reversed court in the nation. Can you tell me why? It's not because conservatives apparently run the country, it's because the court's decisions are NOT legal. Your idols with the balls won't fight in the legislative arena because they are COWARDS and they know they lose in the arena of ideas so they use the ninth circus court to legislate from the bench thus bypassing the whole legislative process. If that's the america you want then you must be reading Stalin or Chairman Mao.

One man with a million imaginary friends is a lunatic.
One million men with one imaginary friend is a religion.
The crazier ones will carry out what they believe is right and good in the name of, or they will even die for, their imaginary friend.
Yeah, Whatever. Seen any Christian, Jewish, or Buddhist suicide bombers lately?

RHDMK3 ^^ Couldn't have said it better. Though I believe that organized religion has it's place in society I just dont think that it should be involved in politics.
The founding fathers of America disagree with you.
President Thomas Jefferson said:
And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.
President George Washington said:
It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favors.
President James Madison said:
It is the duty of every man to render to the Creator such homage, and such only, as he believes to be acceptable to him. This duty is precedent both in order of time and degree of obligation, to the claims of Civil Society. Before any man can be considered as a member of Civil Society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governor of the Universe.
I could go on and on but...(pulls trigger) I have to go bury my kitten.
