because its lighter, put the engine behind the front axle and gave the car a 50/50 weight balance IIRC.. plus it revs to the high heavens and its pretty cool to say you have a 700hp 3s under the hood, especially to those with a 2J haha. Thats pretty much how I figure Nagata-san saw it.

you would if you had the money to do what they did.. the volumetric efficiency of the 3s is insane. less weight and puts the engine behind the front wheels. the 3s is good and long as you can keep it in its powerband.

and in case you didnt notice it dropped the weight to 2700lbs... thats DAMN good for a supra. so 700hp + a LOT less weight. i bet it would pick on a lot of its brothers with 2jzs.

well, some of that is weight savings due to removing sound deadening etc.. but you're right, most of it is credited to the motor.

yep.. IIRC the 3s is 86x86 perfect square same as the 2J so to think of it as such is funny. a smaller version that is, also the precursor some say..

lol, I knew.. what are you getting at? my argument was for the 3s in general. Then again I think perhaps that wasn't aimed at anyone in general.

The 2JZ was designed by a Firm In Germany and the 3S is a Yamaha Design, (kinda like a 7M head and a 4A style block.)
