Okay ill try to keep this stright and to the point. Basically I was driving a few weeks back and I get on it and all the sudden I hear "POP!" and my car is blowin out smoke like a mo fo! I thought it was turbo seals becasue I have blown one before and it makes the same pop and you get the smoke/oil out the exhaust.

Well I was about to replace it when I took my exh manifold off and noticed somethin strage 3 cyl back from the front I have oil in the port and in the exh manifold, all the others are clean. The hot side of my turbo is DRY of oil, I know from experience if the turbo seal blows usually its full of oil. Heres the other thing the car exhaust sounds funny and runs like the engine is gettin choked up aside from just the smoke. The starter even makes a funny sound when cranking now like the batt is dead. Aside from choking up a little you can tell its still running ok and has decent engine power so I dobut its anything major like a cracked head or whatever

Valve seal?

I was gettin a little knock before it happened on my guage (HOT day poor gas) could this contribute to the valve seal blowing?

The only way a valve seal would make any kind of a noise would be from it breaking off and being crushed in the valve spring. I suppose your valve seal just went and that is where all the oil is coming from but I really doubt that it made any noise at all and I have never heard or seen one just break, they usually just get hard over time and quit working.

The only other way for oil to get in there like that would be from something more serious...BHG or Ring Piston problems.

U think the knock cracked the rings? I guess a compression test should tell... hmm... So you think its blow by? You know.. I do have more oil coming thru the breathers then usual now I guess that would make sence... that would be an amazing guess if your correct IJ!! When I went to take off my exh manifold I noticed the wastegate vac line was off im thinking that the line poped off and I was running really high boost and knock knock knock boom ?

((shakes head)) there is NO reason for a stock or slightly modified turbo engine to knock in the first place. I am running a high compression NA with 1 knock sensor with a large turbo, I wouldent give advice if I dident know from personal experience! It takes ALOT of boost to get the 7MGTE to knock and if the pre knock got bad enough the second knock sensor would pick it up way before the point of engine damage.

Cylinder pressure for a GE is 156 and 142 for a GTE

I have a GE JDM block and here are the results...

#1 185
#2 182
#3 0
#4 85
#5 185
#6 185

Plugs 2 , 3 and 4 are wet (#3 being the most) Plugs 3 and 4 the gap has been pushed up into the tip #3 being most severe

Why is it 185 if its only suppose to be 156!?

Could it be a bad head gasket where its leaking between #3 and #4 or broken rings?
