I have a set of Yokohama AVS Sport tires on my Supra (255/45/17 in the front, 285/40/17 in the back). I'm curious as to how people have found they hold up on the drag strip.
I tried them at the track, the first run I had NO traction, and just spun like crazy, but after that, they gripped really well. I know people say not to do burnouts on street tires, but these tires seem to grip WAY better after heating up. I mean, they were picking up rocks and debris off the road, and sticking to the rubber. What sort of rubber do they use in them?
I was running consistant 2.2 60ft times, but I was trying to not lose traction after the initial spinfest through 2 gears on the first run.
