I can't comment on the Yokos but i have run Toyo RA1's and Kumho V710's. Both are R compound tires. The RA's have 8/32, that is nice for an R compound as they wear fast and I run these all the time, Kumhos have 6/32. They are both nearly equaly soft checking with a durometer and both stick about the same. The Yokos were a little more $$ and I have to budget some where.

I come from a land down under
Clifton: The Yoko's are only available in MH in the size I want but I'm not sure what durometer this equates to!

I guess being a big heavy powerful car it would tear up softs pretty quickly.

Falken RT615 will grip a whole lot better then what you are running now IJ.

though i havent run the tires Ian has on now, i can say that my first impression of the falken azenis rt 615 is a damn good one. i carved a backroad earlier today doing about 60mph the entire way. (still had LOTS of room to go, too, but i was chicken :p)

where i used to break traction in first and second gear, it grabs and goes. then again, i'm only pushing about 300 to the wheels on a stock dying ct26...

but, i love them already. i'm running 275/40 rear and 255/40 front, lowered on eibachs (the progressive ones, ugh! i hate them!) and koni yellows.

The RT-615 is a great tire and can't be beat in it's class but doesn't compare to an R compound tire, if that's what you really want. The 048's are as soft as the RA1 and V700 but cost more, atleast here. 048's will cost about $300 more for a set in my size. They are also have 6/32 so you will loose a little tread there too compared with the RA1. If you do run R compounds on the street your alignment has to be very conservative to make them last. I change my camber and toe at the track for autocross.

Although it's in the US you can compare some prices.
