Yup, they are legal as long as they have the DOT stamp on it. There are a lot of cars out there that have them for OEM foglights.

You can get those yellow "capsules" from some member off hidplanet.com. I have been a member there for some time now and there are a lot of good people over there. SM member HIDPLANET is on here and he knows everything about lighting.

Depends on the state you are in.

In Canada it is legal but as day time drivng lights only. The are a clear lense but with yellow bulbs.

I had this same question years ago so I stopped at the Checkpoint here near Camp Pendelton to ask the CHP what the laws said. They showed me that in CA the law at that time was no more than 6 lights visable from the front, that meant two marker/turn lights, two headlights, and two amber fog or two white driving lights were legal. I'm not sure if it's changed since then here in CA.

You can still get pulled over for yellow lights, but more than liekly you wont get ticketted. Using yellow foglamps in conditions other than foul weather can get you a ticket, but more than likley will only get you a warning. It all depends on how the oficer see's it. If its glaring at him/her, then its glaring at other drivers causing dangerous driving conditions. Just aim them right and dont blind people and youll be fine.

I know on the IS300 there are yellow fog lights as an option, it is not a yellow bulb, but something in the housing. Not sure what models had them versus the white ones, but I know they exist.

Holy Smokes there's allot of light laws. Here's a link to everything you ever wanted to know about lights and the CA DMV. I didnt see anything on color rules, just height, beam path, candlepower, etc.. I've had yellow fog light on every car I've owned over the last 30 years and never have I been stopped or had a chip say anything about them when I was pulled over. On my last car a 68 charger I removed the stock high beams and replaced them with yellow DOT headlights, never had an issue with them either. During Rain and Fog is where you'll see the difference, and it is amazing.

I was wondering if there are any H3 in yellow. Because i know on GS300 there are yellow light bulbs, not anything of the housing like the IS300 as jeff said. IDk it was just a thought...correct me if im wrong..

On the H3's I emailed a bunch of light bulb companies last monday to ask that very question and so far most have answered back saying no. So I did what some on here did go to Michaels the arts & crafts stores and bought Krylon Stained Glass Color 9024 Yellow. I painted my fogs with it and I am very impressed, at first I was worried there might be too much heat but with the stock 55 watt H3 bulbs even after they had been on for hours it wasn't an issue.

I have yellow bulbs and painted yellow housings...

it's a nice OEM looking yellow (Acura, Mercedes, Lexus, for example)

nothing overwhelming, no shit from the cops yet, either...
