Alright. I know this is a Supra forum....but the Supra in the garage belongs to the hubby. I finally got my own project car...a 1970 Ford Maverick!
My first car was a 1974 Maverick, and I LOVED my car. It was a rust bucket, but it ran damned good and got great gas mileage (for a '70s car, it got 30 mpg). Unfortunately, I made the mistake of letting a friend do some work on the car while I went to school/work, and when I came home, the block was ruined. He took a chunk off my block where the water pump was supposed to mount, popped a hole in my radiator, and I was somehow, mysteriously, getting water in my oil. That "friend" will NEVER again touch another of my cars.
Got a really awesome deal on this one, even though it just amounts to a rolling body. It needs some work, but it wouldn't be a restoration project if it didn't, would it?? We're talking ground-up restoration, but I don't care. I have my car again! Whole new interior, new front windshield, new floorboards in the backseat, new fuel tank (it doesn't even have one at the moment) and some holes that need to be filled on the body. Also need a new motor and tranny, as well as drive shaft.
Here are some pictures Doward took today, I'll get more up when we get the car home. These are just some shots of where there is work that needs to be done.
So............YAY FOR ME!!!! **And I know Doward will post more info up here, too, where I will have forgotten things in my excitement**
