I believe you're looking at the vacuum line that tells the wastegate when to open when it sees a set pressure. The thin blue line on the top?

OH word! So the Wastgate takes in the pressure reading from the unburned side! Man... that's kind of a duh too huh?

So a DDP is pointless? I was pretty sure I'd heard somewhere someone saying it had a function...

Shaeff that's the same link that Mmber1 gave me, What's your opinion about the DDP? I think I remember you saying something good about it...

yeah, i know. it just makes you log in to that forum to access the info, so i took the liberty to sign up so i could just post here. it's a pet peeve of mine when you have to log into a forum to read something like that, so i just copy/pasted it for everyone else. ;)

i have a BIC DDP, and love it. of course the ddp has function. yes, the pressure source for the wastegate actuator is taken from the cold side, however, when the diaphragm is introduced to 6.5psi (our stock pressure), it will begin to push the wastegate rod open, and in turn, opening the actual wastegate in the exhaust housing of the turbo.

there's benefit in the ddp because instead of the exhaust gas from the wastegate interrupting flow of the normal exhaust, which will have a siphon effect to it as it exits the turbine housing, it's routed down it's own pipe. the routing of the wastegate gas down it's own pipe creates LESS turbulance than if it just dumped in with the rest of the exhaust. ;)

less turbulant exhaust= more power.

BRILLIANT!

I'm getting more and more excited about his whole build! Anyone wanna float me like, $10k???

Is one type of wastegate better than the other? (Internal vs. External?)

Forgot to throw this in the last post, Can the BIC be fabbed up for a T4? I don't see it anywhere on his site... And is anyone running his exhaust system? I didn't even know he had one till just yesterday...

No the BIC DDP is for the CT and SP turbo's only I believe. I've got a BIC DDP and test pipe for the stock turbo.

with a t4 turbo, you wouldn't want to run an internal wastegate anyway. ;)

because external is better for a highly modified car anyway. no boost creep, more accurate, usually much larger as well.

To provide an answer to his original post.

A book you should most definitely BUY if you want to do your own na-t swap and know what your doing is "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. I've had a copy next to my desk for like 2 years now and its probably the best read you'll get on the subject.
