((alright i duplicated this thread in this section so it could get some more traffic, and it technically applies to both GE's and GTE's so it's legit!))

ok, i've tried 2 different fuel lines now (the one that sits on the end of the fuel rail and runs down through the intake manifold and connects to the main feed), neither fit correctly and it's driving me nuts.

one was off a turbo that i tried to retrofit (was told by toyota that it is the same on both) but that didn't fit for some reason, and one that i just bought isn't fitting either... i'm 99% sure these are the correct lines, and the correct placing of both ends but it doesn't seem to fit (i had to beat the previous turbo line on, and it did fit, but didn't seal correctly)

(excuse the size of the pictures, i didn't make them smaller so you could clearly see everything)
in the pictures it doesn't look like it's very far away from where it should fit, but it's deeper down than the line is running, theres no way it'll reach without me drastically altering the line

any advice?

you shouldn't have to beat it on period, In my swap between the NA and turbo I reused my NA one due to the fact that the other one did not fit correctly. There are two different lines from what I remember but im not 100% sure. are you using the copper washers above and below the bajo bolts?

There are two different part number depending on year, the change takes place at the same time they went to the round motor mounts like yours...

I checked the EPC for this, sounds like your dealer is a fool...

haha it was actually bryanintexas (from SM, he works for toyota)

he must've been looking at the wrong line, but thanks for clearing that up. i guess i'll give him a call tomorrow and see if he has the right line. i guess i'll also check around locally for some GE's that maybe have that part to spare and see if they fit

yea, poodles is right, by trying to use the wrong one even though you might get it to thread it it prob. isnt seating flat against the washers to give you the correct seal.

oops, sorry if I hurt his feelings, used to having idiots at the parts counter...

If it helps, the line you have right now is part number 23801-42010

You need 23801-42030

ohhh no no he didn't sell me the part, he actually offered to give me the one off of his car, but i had already bought it from tubbie here on SM

do you think that part you suggested would be the same on turbo and non-turbo cars?

it should be the same, the main difference is from when they change motor mounts on the 89+ that it shifted a little bit. Like I said I used the one on my 87 NA motor on my pre 89 gte and had no problems with it fitting at all so that should do the trick for you
