Any of you ever gone out there and looked at the raw data from a geological perspective? Climate swings over geological timeframes?

You really should. Educate yourself and look at the data. Everyone out there providing "interepretation" of the data has an agenda that is rarely "truth".

The Earth, when viewed from geological timeframes, has continuous and predictable cycles of warming and cooling.

After you review the data, you'll come to the determination that having just come out of an ice age (in geological time), it is to be expected that temperatures will continue to rise.

Despite the predictions, recommendations and sheer panic of these political manipulators, volcanoes and the sun's own cycles affect Earth's temperature more significantly than human activity. Period.

There is no absolutely NO scientific evidence showing that current temperatures are anywhere near historical highs or showing the the rate of increase is higher than in other similar geological times.

Be smarter than these people folks. This "man is causing global warming" crap is not science, it is self-loathing. And if you look at the people pushing it, you will find an awful lot of what they say is also self-loathing.

I think that he is right, look at the climates we had when the dinosaurs were around. Places that are cool year round had to have higher temperatures back then or the big dinosaurs wouldn't have survived being large cold blooded creatures, they just wouldn/t have the warmth they needed.

"The Mesozoic Era was the time from 248 million to 65 million years ago. During the Mesozoic, the Earth was very different than it is now. The climate was warmer, the seasons were very mild, the sea level was higher, and there was no polar ice. Even the shape of the continents on Earth was different; the continents were jammed together at the beginning of the Mesozoic Era, forming the supercontinent of Pangaea."

And then the Ice Age came and changed everything... or something like that.

It sounds like we all agree it is getting warmer as in todays temps compared to recent years no matter what the cause is... Yes or no?

Yes here.. :runaway:

Joel: Lol, ever been in BC?

Its getting more wet, but not necessarily warmer... but in Germany over the last 6 years... fuck we had some weird weather. One year we had one of the hottest and dryest summers ever and the year after all of Germany, Cyech Republic, Austria etc was flooded and it wouldnt stop raining.

I think the main concern about Global Warming isnt that it gets warmer all over the world (as in you sweat more and the temps are rising), its the rising sea level. Imo...

TS: Yes I have been to B.C. Very nice area...I have no doubt that some areas will get colder and some areas warmer, but on average things seem to be warmer even if by a 1/2 degree or so "globally".

See the weird thing is everybody is talking about Global Warming but I just read something written by a prof and he said:

"We are still in the midst of the third major cooling period that began around 3 million years ago..."

Well, just one of the things I dont understand... :nono:

Global warming is real, but its not cause by humans, we cant really do much to the environment, nature always adapts and changes weither we like it or not.
driving ur car around didnt cause the seas to rise.

My opinion is that the real threat comes from the release of too much fresh water into the salt water oceans "conveyor belt" from melting ice, that will cause the conveyor belt to stop moving. This movement regulates the oceans temperature. It has happened before, it will happen again and it is currently slowing down.

This will be the cause of our next ice age. IMO

Exactly. Although I really don't believe in any of this bullshit.
People should accept the fact that we basically have no clue as to what's going on, just throwing out educated guesses. I think the best thing going is the earth's cycles, which I'll believe over any global warming BS.

No shit it's "globally warming" if we're still pulling out of an ice age, duh

Nick: In your third post you say global warming is caused from the suns weather.

In your last post, (still reading your links so bare with me :) ) but so far your links all says Global warming IS a hoax.

"Those claiming that “global warming” is real have an agenda other than saving the planet from human activity."

I am confused. Are you saying it is not getting warmer but cooler?

It should read: "Those claiming that [man made] global warming” is real have an agenda other than saving the planet from human activity."

I am not debating the cause (because I don't know), but just the effect that it is getting warmer no matter what is causing it..
So simple. Global warming is defined as humans changing the climate. Not happening.

Climate chaning, that could be.

Good answer, I had to look it up and there were many definitions that say your right, I always thought that definition was used when applied to the "green house effect". My bad..:)

I guess I have been thinking of it by this definition.

An increase in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere (especially a sustained increase that causes climatic changes).

BWAHAHAHAHA, you know what I liked about that movie, what made me laugh so hard!?!?

The part when they were like "And thanks to our friends in the southern hemisphere who opened their borders..." etc blabla.

Fuck that, seriously, if something like that would happen... a new ice age and the people in the northern hemisphere would freeze their asses off there would be no way that mexico or africa or whoever down there would open their borders to let us in... they'd stand there and laugh and watch us die. Its understandable imo, why would they even wanna help us? I wouldnt wanna help if I was in their position. Shrug.

Yeah, I know, its Hollywood but still it was hilarious.
