wtf different motor mount angle???

yes the mounts are different you need a set of older style motor mounts or change your block brackets to 89+ aluminum brackets so you can use your round mounts
i have a set of the aluminum brackets it seems like the difference is in the block i wasn't aware that there was a difference in blocks though. the aluminum ones sit at an angle facing down, when i use the old style brackets they seem to be at the right angle but i'd have to drill out a hole were the pin goes.
just checked my old block with this new one and they are the same, this is wierd. the newer aluminum brackets i have now face down at about a 30 degree angle are they supposed to bend up when the motor comes in??? i layed the older brackets on the mounts and they were straight.
you car originally had the cast aluminum stands and tall round mounts?
What year is the chassis?
There is no differance in the blocks. For that matter, the block thats in my car is from an 87 and mine is a 90 chassis, bolts right up. Toyota never changed the 7M block. Even the 7Mpowered cressida's were the same just with different mounts and stands.
Something else is wrong in your situation.

Use the brackets from your newer block or get some newer brackets and bolt them to the 88 block.
