A newer IS, most likely 2011 but ill see if there is anything worth the few grand on the 2012. I have some research to do first. Im not dead set on an IS, i just like the way they look.

This is the end of the train for my Mk3. Although she wasnt damaged too badly, my wife asked me to get rid of her and frankly i dont have the patience to fix her or care for her as i should.

There is not much damage, the hood was destroyed but i have another carbon fiber one sitting on my table. No front bumper damage ( it was all from a trailor, the nose went under after the trailor swung out), and there is few dents and such on the front right panel.

Being that i finally got it running after about 5 years of sitting ( i swapped a 2jz/r154, new exhaust and a bunch of new parts at home) its a bit of a bummer. I waiting on news from my insurance, but this small bit of damage was claimed as a total loss ( the car is only listed at roughly 3k KBB) so also not a surprise.

All in all, i might take it apart and sell it in pieces, or sell it as a fixer, dont know yet, i want to see where im at with insurance. Pretty bummed though.

That's pretty unfortunate, this is the second MKIII on SM to be destroyed recently.. :nono:

Get the claim and buy the car back....When I wrecked my 06' Acura TL with 53K on it they would sell it back to me for 4K after giving me 17K. Bet they will give you the 3K for it and then selling it back to you for $500! You can buy a real nice shell for $2500!!!

Glad you aren't hurt but sometimes you can work a deal like this to come out on top!

Thanks sethron; and i like the IS, but the ISF is a little much for me tbh. The car is not destryed per se, obviously it is in the eyes of an insurance company due to the cars worth but it could have been a lot worse. My next step at this point is to see what this car is worth. Im positive im done with the car atm, though i couldnt have asked for a better experience than that of owning this vehicle, it really made for some great memories and exciting times.

On another note. I have the intent to sell this car. Obviously it has damage, I would like to let the car go to somebody who is willing to fix the issues and use the car. The interior is in great condition, the damage to the body is limited to the front of the car ( where i have a replacement hood) and a dent on the passenger door. The car runs but i turned it off fearing any damage would occur if left on.

I dont want to gouge anybody so what is a fair price or range i should look at to let this thing go, not sure if this is against policy here asking this but i rather have a somewhat educated price before i put up a for sale price. ( As for mods, the car is a 2jz gte with r154 swap with a new clutch all done by driftmotion in decemeber 2011).

I don't believe that it's against any rules to ask for a ballpark figure, but you can't sell it in this section, has to have it's own FS thread made up.

As for a ballpark price, with a 2j and r154, you say it was installed by Driftmotion? Or was that just the clutch? If it's the whole setup, still runs and everything aside from maybe needing a new radiator/fan are in good shape, I'd say $2500-3000 would probably be a good starting point. Maybe a bit more, but considering the new owner will have their hands full, and people tend to be cheap about this sort of thing anyway. Unless the new owner is experienced with bodywork or has another shell and just needs a swap... All depends on how fast you need to sell it. ;)

Everything was swapped by driftmotion, even the shell is in good condition, just the front right fender has a gash, the front window needs replacing, a new hood and a piant job to tie it all together. Although that can come out to a huge sum of money the paint job is something the car probably needed after 20 years anyways.

Either way im going to take some better quality pictures of the car and make a for sale thread here soon. I think I will probably be posting the car around the 4k mark, thats about half of what i just spent on the swap and restoration anyways, considering the swap is still good the car still runs and interior is nice its an easy car to make 400whp after the cosmetic fixes and replacing the radiator, its support, and possibly a hose. Not really in any kind of rush, I went to the lexus dealership yesterday and ill probably be buying the IS afterall, ill take pictures soon and post a for sale thread, thanks for the help.
