This is the end of the train for my Mk3. Although she wasnt damaged too badly, my wife asked me to get rid of her and frankly i dont have the patience to fix her or care for her as i should.

There is not much damage, the hood was destroyed but i have another carbon fiber one sitting on my table. No front bumper damage ( it was all from a trailor, the nose went under after the trailor swung out), and there is few dents and such on the front right panel.

Being that i finally got it running after about 5 years of sitting ( i swapped a 2jz/r154, new exhaust and a bunch of new parts at home) its a bit of a bummer. I waiting on news from my insurance, but this small bit of damage was claimed as a total loss ( the car is only listed at roughly 3k KBB) so also not a surprise.

All in all, i might take it apart and sell it in pieces, or sell it as a fixer, dont know yet, i want to see where im at with insurance. Pretty bummed though.

Sorry to hear. Anyways, parting out will require a lot of patience as well, see if you can sell it as a whole first. Like Andy said we can't make this a for sale thread, put can we get pics?

Thanks IJ, I feel blessed that nothing serious happened. Ill be updating in a week or two whether ill put the car up for sale, or get it running with damage to the front quarter panel and replace the windshield to sell with a little body damage. I am fairly certain i will be selling the car though, my wife and I decided to buy a new car so we could both forgoe the headaches and time an older car comes with.

If I *had* to replace my old car love for a new car, there's only two I'd consider: another Miata, or the Scion FR-S. FR-S is more likely simply because there's a bit more room, but they're quite similar in overall size. Plus, I have yet to hear anything bad from anyone who's actually driven one. :)

Glad you're ok though, it has been bad these last couple months...

SoCal,
Sorry to see your Supra get wrecked. Hopefully you or your wife didn't get hurt yourself from the accident.

I am looking at the lexus IS series at the moment. I enjoyed driving the supra, but it was more a novelty. I used to work on it and it has seen a little track time when i was in college, apart from that i rarely drove it and ive been meaning to part with my camry; so this gives me the opportunity to cut down to 2 new cars that we both use daily. It was just myself driving the car, i was not hurt one bit ( apart from a little soreness the next day). Ill look at the caps when i get a chance, maybe a little alter today i can provide those numbers.

I'm sry for your loss. I know it's frustrating but hang in there and I'm sure you'll come up with something that'll make you happy. I know that feeling though. I had an 04 M3 that I dumped all of my money and time into and the insurance company was supposed to roll over my insurance and didn't. I found out a week later when an old lady hit me at a stop light and some how they still said I was at fault. So now I'm paying on the loan but things did get better for me more than a year later but at least they got better. I hope they will for you too.

The radiator is also busted, the rad support is currently where the fan should be. a few brackets were torn off. Hood, its struts and supports need replacing. The engine was still running, but the fan is currently unable to move, dont know the condition its in either. Obviously some cosmetic stuff; either way it doesnt take much for an insurance company to cal these cars total losses.

Things aren't horribly, they are clearly at fault and th semi driver was ticketed for an illegal lane change, but i was kinda just letting people know. I know there are people that can fix this with a little time, im just not going to be that person i dont think. Thanks for all the concern, save for Nick, Im good for a light slap.

Last generation Lexus IS or the current? Jeff Lange has a newer IS, seems to enjoy it from what I gathered. Nice looking cars for a 4 door.
