Wow! Old CRTs suck ass!

Man they're shitty. I had a shitty cheap kds 19" crt for the longest time (probably 7-8 years) and finally upgraded to a LG 22" lcd this weekend and DAMN! what a difference in picture quality! everything looks amazingly better, i mean everything. Text, webpages, photos, everything is damn clear now. I tried some games as well, I was blown away at the difference...

And blacks that are actually blacks. Though the current gens of LCD and Plasma only have a little bit more to go before they have caught up with CRT.

When i replaced my 17" flatpanel with my current 19" widescreen...WOW - now THAT was a difference. Brighter, better contrast, better response time and so much crisper...not bad for £140

Ive always preferred crt monitors. Cheap LCD screens just dont do anything for me, my desk is bigh enough the space is a non issue.

Honestly, the small loss in color is NOTHING compared to the lack of heat output an LCD enjoys over a CRT.

LCD's have their downfalls...

If you can't run at the native rez, it looks like ass. This is especially important in gaming.

Keep in mind I run an LCD now, and I'll admit it is FAR easier to read and doesn't have the same issues with eye strain...

Nice theory. I run a 24inch widescreen LCD - 1920x1200 native. I had a decent video card, but Crysis kicked the piss out of it, so I had to buy a brand new, top 'o the line NVidia slotwhore. Now I can get at least 30fps on most games with decent level of detail.

Running Crysis on custom ultra high config at 1440x900 here....and i dont even have a decent C2D!

1920x1200 will be possible if you use the 1.2 patch and the 174.74's
