I found some 91 leather seats and i really want leather seats. My cloth seats are in excellent condition tho and these seats are pretty bad.

Question is, would i be able to reupholster these. I don't really know the process or anything, i only know that my friend had it done and his seats look pretty good.

I had my perfect blue cloth seats reupholstered a while back. I've missed them ever since then. I like the way my leather seats look, but they're cold as ice in winter and hot as hell in the summer. Just my two cents worth.

I would stay with the cloth seats. Those are pretty bad off and you'll just spend more money trying to get them nice. Then you have to deal with the hot summer/ cold winter issue.

sure why not they look like good candidates :) my seats were in HORRIBLE SHAPE.... not only was the leather torn but some of the foam was gouged/damaged..... but they were able to replace some of the foam and make then good as new..... the foam is really all you need to have it look nice, and even that's not required... bottom line it all boils down to how good the shop is that does it, how well they take their time, etc.

ps - i'd stick with leather, i hate cloth seats, just my opinion of course... leather wipes nice and clean and just looks like a million bucks, plus i like the way it feels, i'll never get a car with cloth seats again.

there are good sides and bad sides to leather. I like it the way that it looks but it wasnt worth it anymore when I got into the supra and it burnt the back of my legs...... I have loved cloth ever since

the hot/cold seats have never been a problem for me.... and i've lived both in CANADA and LOS ANGELES ... sheesh!

guys if the seats are too hot/cold for you get an alarm with an remote-start.... then you can turn your car on and let it heat up, or cool down or whatever. just leave the AC/heat on before you shut off the car...

i got a remote start + paging alarm, now i never worry about hot interior or a cold shift knob ;) (i have a solid metal shifter)

BTW, i'm probally snaching that dash, as well as the bumper and some other random stuff. Found a diamond in the rough 91 today.

Leather doesnt last in Florida. LA doesnt have anything on Florida's sun intensity.

My seats (front and rear) and all insert panels are in the shop now getting recovered. I have the JDM recaros and the material was in bad shape. I am redoing everything to match. Black outers, grey inserts, black panels. All done in cloth.

Your seats look nice. Why didn't you do black inserts on the rears and black inserts on all the panels?

katskinz offers oem replacements in leather and vinyl and maybe some cloth options but those seats are in great shape for any decent shop ive taken seats in with zero foam and had them come back looking better then showroom condition.

Manual driverside seat FTW!
I want to do suede, too bad the upkeep is difficult. Although microsuede, suede's cousin, is looking like an excellent fabric canidate.

Jay I thought you learned my trick. I always use a nice towel in the summer to cover the dash and seats. No burnt rear for Jugo.

I vote definately worth going leather, there was a whole thread on leather vs cloth iirc.

After I discussed with my father the pro/cons of leather/cloth, we decided leather. Maybe the weakest for cloth was, if I spill some shit on it...we'll everything could be ruined :)
Leather looks really nice and easily washable.
