Don't forget about the 14sec Scions :)

Our event will still have the quickest and fastest Auto AND 6spd Supras in the Country racing. Vegas had a car run 9.9 and a bunch of 11-14sec cars.

If you wanted to see slow cars race Vegas was the place. Fast cars will be in AZ

If you have a $100,000 race car that can't pass a tech inspection, don't go to AZ!!! :sarcasm: And if you hate to see head-to-head Supra racing action, you would have loved AZ. :biglaugh:

Nothing like broken axles, sheered wheel studs and a Rod through a WOTM built 3.4l stroker :)
I can think of better ways to spend $15k

Dang Aaron. My tune is too WOTM'd right now. When are we gonna fix it up better ?

i dont like how ryan handled the situation after the fact.

yes, its the racer's fault they werent up to spec. but the fact is ryan led everyone to believe there wasnt going to be a problem with tech and to "bring them" is what pissed off a lot of people.

i feel the most sorry for the guys that flew out there, rented a car, and rented a hotel for a whole lot of nothing.

I don't blame the Tech for not letting them through. Hell, I wish G'ville Raceway's techs were this anal - kind of a pisser to go out and watch vehicle after vehicle spill fluids all down the track!

Ryan had no control over tech. If their 7sec Supra didn't have a certified cage, then it is no one's fault but their own..not Ryan's. End of story.

I wasn't there but it seems that many people still had fun with the event.

It obviously wasn't all Ryan's fault. What bothered me was that the event was seemingly set up to take attendence from SILV, and if it was really about Supras and the people who love them, they would have went in with Keith on the Vegas drags and it would have made SILV even more great. It could have been one huge awesome event, rather then reduced attendence in Vegas and a flop of an event in AZ.

Well people are making it out to be his fault.

I do however agree with the Vegas thing. If all of the Supra big dogs went to Vegas, then the event would have been HUGE! I think now people really understand how much work really goes in to that event.

Go figure...after waiting years and years to fly out to SILV I attend the one meet where all the 'big dogs' decided to pass on. Don't get me wrong; I still had a great time at SILV but I just wish as Supra owners we could all work together. I'm sure Ryan had his reasons for holding his own meet but having it 1 week after Vegas was not the brightest idea IMHO.

I disagree. Holding the AZ event less than a week after SILV would have been brilliant for Ryan had everything worked out perfectly. It was NOT the brightest idea for the Supra Community.

Oh yeah... there is no community in the Supra world. Everyone is in this game with their own personal agendas.

My favorite part about the AZ drags was that they always complain that they had to sit through a bunch of slow races in Vegas but the biggest turnout in AZ was from the Scion crowd - running 1/4 minute quartermile times.

A few years ago I offered Ryan the chance to coordinate the drags for SILV. He said he was too busy and couldn't be bothered.

I must also disagree with this statement:

Until you spend a significant chunk of your life planning something like the BIG events you will never truely understand the amount of time, energy, and money that it takes to put something like this together.

^^Yes it is truely insane what you 3 or 4 guys can do for SILV. Truely. Thank you for the fun time and well orchestrated events. I for one, had a BLAST @ SILV and will be back next year for sure.

WOTM is done. Doesn't matter if Ryan does a 7sec pass with his car. He's done. JP is faster anyways and doesn't break and\or dissapoint as often and isn't a total dickhead either.

I was truely dissapointed that Ken Henderson did not make SILV this year. I doubt he'll make that mistake again. :)

I do remember a certain someone a few years ago claiming that there would be no SILV if he didn't show up. hmmm... He wasn't there in the beginning and I haven't seen him for the past couple of years and guess what... SILV still happened. WOW! I'll go out on a limb and boldly state "There would be no SILV if it weren't for me!" ;)

We will always have people who judge the entire event only by a single activity. I've lost track of the # of complaints I've read/heard where they only complaint was about the lack of participants at the drags or the heat. REALLY!?! Those people must have too much spare time on their hands.

I would like to point out that with the exception of the Dyno this year, everything started exactly on time.

Even with all of the hot-heads going to AZ we were only down 12 Supras from 2006 at the Show-and-Shine. That's not bad. There were actually MORE Supras drag racing this year than in 2006.

Ha....That shows the "community" still wants this to happen not just some kid who's mom bought him a quicksilver and funded startup for his company.

The drags were GREAT with the exception of the wind. Vettes, TT Vipers, Turbo GTO's, all make Supras, hell even Ryan Hawkins and Bob Sulley did a few runs just for fun. Good to see participants just out having fun instead of worrying about "record or car breaking passes"

Dyno day was the most fun for me. Even if it didn't start ontime we all know supra owners are late for everything so it didn't really matter anyways. Plenty of cars on the dyno, plenty of people to talk to and Silverstate Motorsports were really cool guys even if he did mess up my dyno run slightly ;) I didn't care cause I was having too much fun and still don't.
