I lost out to a Nissan Armada. Yeah that's right a big SUV.


I reved my supra 87T inline 6 and to my surprise the Nissan reved back. Oh this guy wants to race huh? I've got a turbo and he weighs 5000lbs. He's got no chance!!! :evil2: The light turned green and he pulled ahead I stalled and sputtered and he never looked back.

I know it sounds terrible but let me explain why. I had a few too many washers on the wastegate and I couldn't boost at all without hitting fuel cut. I was out on my test drive and go figure my first race and my engine wasn't ready. Took 1 washer out and now I'm boosting 10 to 11 psi with no problems... I'm still looking for that Armada for a rematch!

Tip: Don't try to race when doing a test drive... That's how head gaskets explode and cars hit trees. There are too many variables and you want to be paying full attention to the car, not the race.

As to the racing of an SUV... We all did it when we started driving, but the sooner you realize it's stupid the better a driver you'll become.

Sorry man, I said I wasn't trying to offend. The tip is valid, I have nothing against people racing whomever whenever they want, but I wouldn't want to hear another blown engine story. As for the driving part, after a while you realize that racing SUV's is stupid, not because it's dangerous, but because our cars are so vastly superior .

I was driving a powerstroke ford F-350 dually all this week. I was surprised at the power this thing had. The truck was big enough that I could almost fit my supra in the bed, and it had tons of power. I could accelerate almost as quick as the supra.

no didn't offend... the truth hurts sometimes.

Yeah pretty amazing that a huge truck like that could be so fast. (at least in a straight line) I watched a tv show on spike tv that hooked up a dodge cummings turbo diesel to a programmer, dialed up the boost a little bit, then proceeded to drag race an 05 mustang gt. Smoked the mustang pretty bad.
