I don't think all the wire brushes, hot tanks, and acid dips in the world could get the rust off that block... it's got so much rust the structural integrity of the block may have decreased, lol
but why bother chipping the coal off of that when you can buy something a bit more substantial? you're already going to replace the rods and mains on a troubled engine, just have some extra money from not having to clean 3 inches of rust and dirt from everywheres.
