See the person with the blown head gasket on the 2JZ is probably a moron . He probably destroyed it himself, just like you. It isn't an answer to your problems, a bicycle is.

I don't think the head gasket was proper blown, just leaking. It was a pretty much mint 100% stock car, as far as I know it was driving fine, but there was combustion gas getting into the coolant or something along those lines.

No difference, online on the internet. The V06 campaign was a blown headgasket for 4Runners, and it never exploded like Supra owners manage to do.

I hope that isn't in reference to me, buddy. I've got close to 200k miles on this engine, I change the coolant, hoses, oil changes every 2500 miles, frequent maintenance, etc. Read the thread, the reservoir bottom end popped out some how, (turned out to be old rubber, something I never thought would happen) The bird cage light didn't come on because the float was holding the whole piece in, and the HG isn't blow like I previously thought. I've got more faith in the 7m than a lot of members do. I've taken this thing on road trips like mad with no problem, hell it gets me back and forth from Dickson to Cookeville during college which is almost 200+ miles one way. So don't act all high and mighty like I didn't take care of the engine. This is just a freak accident that I tried to make the best out of.

I hoped my engine would just fuckin blow up. To be honest, I'm kinda glad the temp went through the roof

Why the fustration? Can't keep a car on the road, and you need a factory car that is so overbuilt they can put close to 1000hp through the factory longblock to stay running?

While I am certainly not high nor mighty, I guess it is better than low and dipshity.

Uhh, where did you read any sign of frustration? I said I wished it would blow up, it has all to do with me wanting it to go so that I would have a greater will to put the 2jz into it. Just because I want to step away from the 7m platform doesn't mean I'm suggesting its a pile of shit. The thing is still running, it didn't harm the car at all. New rad cap, and fixing the resivor solved the problem, she's running like a champ again.

As for the Car on the road comment, my car hasn't been off the road for more than 2 weeks. If your looking for an ignorant supra owner to pick on, step the fuck back, turn around and walk the fuck away.

Low and dipshity comment, I'll leave that one alone.

Nick, I've been noticing that while your output of knowledge on the forums stays the same, your pompousness and arrogance has gone up tenfold. Had a rough month?

Dead - You still putting the 2j in now? Or are you keeping the 7M a little while longer?

I'll be keeping the 7m in and continue with the plan to gather the parts each paycheck 80% for school(as in bills, books, gas, rent, etc.), 20% for parts. I wanna make sure I have everything and not just the bare minimum when I start.

wow you sound like a honda guy right now.If honda guys need a quart of oil they get a motor swap lol.happy to hear your getting a 2J

Uhh, I've had this car and engine way longer than you think I have had, I didn't buy this car 3 months ago. I've had my supra for a good 4+ years now, same engine, same HG, no rebuild, the HG didn't blow for the last fuckin time.

Why is it when someone wants to go 1jz there is almost no flaming from the community, but when someone wants to go 2jz, they get eatin alive?

I watch every persons build on here that are doing a 2J. Hell if it wasn't for my 7M being so healthy and keeping my morale up, I would probably be sold on a 2J swap. I actually almost ditched my 7M build altogether upon learning that Dr. Tweek does plug and play harnesses for them. Now I'm thinking, when I pull my 7M out to do my build, I'll throw a stock 2J in it. :evil2:

Problem is, I'd need a single turbo, BIC motor mounts, and JZ bellhousing. I'd rather not spend the extra 3-4k to put another engine in while I'm building the 7M.

How long do you predict that you'll have the funds for the 2j swap?

you dont need a single turbo, take a look at tissimo, he is running stock twins on a 2j, no firewall banging either.

not all of us have the patience to mod the 7M when the stock 2J is stouter...

I myself? Well, I dumped over 3 grand into my engine and didn't even touch the block, so I'm gonna stick with the 7M...at least for this car...
