Car starts fine all other times never had a issue. Stoped at a store real quick turned it off real fast go to turn back in wont turn over. No cranking so starter clicking. So we pushed it and started it. Got home shut it off and it started fine.

Starter is newer so is battery. Never did this before it was very random. No codes either

Loose connection. Either in the cable/wiring/ignition swtich or starter itself. I would look at the cables and battery terminal ends first.

Ya car just did it again today. I looked at my factory alarm box and there is nothing connected to it at all... It's got me stumped it does it so randomly it's like every month it will do it once

If it was the alarm it would cut off ignition also right? Because when this happens I'm able to roll it and start it so if the alarm cuts off ignition then I wouldn't be able to do that if it was the alarm

The p/o put it in before I bought it he worked at advanced so In guessing its from there.

I'm looking into the starter relay mod. It seems like allot of people who did it had symptoms like I am having

If you read the note at the beginning of the thread, the starter relay mod is pointless (if you can read a wiring diagram you'll know why...)

I'm not really that good with wiring diagrams to me that diagram tells me to look at the wire running from the battery to the starter a d the wire ruining from the ignition to the starter

That's correct.... Those would be the wires to check.. The wiring diagram also tells you what fuze, relay, and connectors that wire "passes through" on it way... Could be a number of things so if I were you I would do some quick learning on the Internet on how to read a wiring diagram and get a test light and a meter if you don't already have them and prepare to do some diagnostics... It's the right way to fix your issue and you will learn some very valuable skills in the process

Also read through the thread about the relay mod fix.... In it jetjock tells the proper way to find out where your problem is,

Good luck :)

Does it click when your turn the key to start? If so it's the starter. Could fix it with the relay mod or a new starter. If no click is the security system cutting off the starter.

I assumed he ment NO starter clicking.... (correct me if I'm wrong)
It also very well could be a loose connection
And he already stated that his security system has been removed
And the relay mod is at best a temporary cover up... Not a fix

Ya you ca hear the relay click but nothing from the starter at all pushed it and started drove it home and it fired right up. I think it's a loose connection I'm gunna look at it tomorrow night

I read through all those threads about the relay mod and jetjock never really said what it was. Is it the signal wire from the ignition? I'm gunna try to fix it Thursday then go see the midnight fast and furious 6 lol

I'll tell you what I do: I load the circuit using either a solid state electronic load (a couple of headlamps will also work) or a constant current power supply in place of the battery (ground the starter signal wire) to above what the solenoid normally draws and then step through it using one sided drop testing. That means setting the meter on millivolts and going along the line from the source (or from wherever I think the problem is downstream) by measuring the positive side only ie; the meter never gets connected to ground. When the high resistance area is reached it'll be obvious. Course, I verify block and starter grounding first. Simple and fast. Don't have that gear? Don't even have a meter? A jumper wire will net the same result. After all, the mod is exactly that: a jumper wire in sheep's clothing...

Although he never said WHAT it was he did tell how to determine what it was by yourself... Which to me is way more helpful as these diagnostic skills are more useful than a simple "try replacing the (insert random part here) and see if that fixes it:)
