My 7m was just rebuilt and during the reinstall i decided to swap my auto for a 5 speed while i have the car apart, i used the jumper wire to bybass the safety neutral switch and i am almost positive that i have all of the connectors hooked back up and i have tested to make sure that i am getting power to the starter but when i turn the key all i hear is a relay clicking somewhere in the dash, just wanted to see if u guys can point me in the right direction of where to start looking for my problem, thanks

well thankfully now i have the starter turning, the black push in wire on the starter was loose, now i am having trouble getting it to fire i can get it to spit a few times using a small spray of starting fluid but other than that nothing, ive pulled the distributer cap and checked my ignition timing, and ive played around with the adjustment on it. I know that im getting fuel and spark, any suggestions?

I'd double check the timing, cam marks, crank mark, #1 on TDC, and rotor pointing at #1 wire on the distributor cap. Also is the 3 ground wires connected to the #2 intake manifold?

FINALLY got it to start, now it wont idle, i pulled the dist cap and checked it and everything looked ok but it runs better at full clockwise lock on the adjustment so im thinking i should slid the distruibuter out and advanse ite one notch clockwise and see if i get any better results, unless there r any other suggestions?
