I was boosting strong in 3rd up a hill yesterday and out of nowhere boost simply STOPS and engine light comes on. So I limp it home.

I check the codes and 34 is showing, Turbo Pressure Issue. Check IC piping, turbo inlet fins and go to start her up again. She fires right up and boosts normally for the rest of the night, no codes after battery reset and stays that way.

Fast forward to this morning.

Fires up fine and idles for 15 secs then abruptly stops, no sputter or rough idle.
Simply shuts off. No codes.

I try to start it up again and it just doesn't want to. It gets to just about where it will start then lights dim/ almost go out for a second with a little shudder then keeps rolling over and repeats this process. Battery voltage at 12.3volts and starter seems to be working normally. Light smoke out the back. No codes.

What happened?

Anyone have an idea? I'm about to go out and investigate. My guesses right now are possible spark plug fouled, no fuel, harmonic dampener slipped along its rubber on the inside or ECU is seriously tripping out of nowhere.. I dunno, drop me a line if you have an idea I'll be checking back here every now and then if I can't figure it out.

Since I talked with ya on FC I checked my afm and my fuel pump resister. Fuel pump resister resistance is 1.2 when it should be .7 and afm is in spec but I got the car to start and run just by unplugging and plugging in my afm conenctor and then got a code 24 after. Intake Air temp Sensor signal(Open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor signal(THA)), so I'm guessing theres a loose connection there and will check it out more tomorrow.

I thought only the NE wire in the cps can prevent the car from starting and because of no spark at all?
Please correct me if I'm wrong

Mine starts, dips real low to about 300rpm then steadies itself, nothing like that tho.

Yours was probably a little worse than mine but I'll replace mine soon.

I actually didn't see anything in your vid about my issues right now.

This is what mine was doing till I unplugged and plugged my afm back in.

Edit, I know plugging and unplugging the afm back in does not contribute the issue to being afm related, it just was the last thing I did, and probably nudged other wires around the cps area making a better connection.

Problem solved!!

I starting checking resistances from the cps to the back of the ecu and some cps wire readings would jump as high as 160ohms!

So I looked inside the base of the connector and just inside the insulation the wires were exposed and showing.

Used another connector and wires and BAM, fires up every time and seems much healthier. :)
