wont build boost

Just the other day i was driving car was working normal. I was getting on the on ramp to the highway and all of the sudden the car just got this extra boost going up to almost 18 (set at 14) and ended up almost spining out. Then step on the pedal on 3 pounds of boost, im like wdf. Ive looked for boost leaks and the only other thing i could figure is that the wastegate failed. anyone else had this problem with wastegate failure any answer is appreciated.

unhook battery or pull ecm fuse for a few min to reset then hook back up and go for a drive. you may have a spit hose or interooler leak under high pressure check all of it again real close.

It's a boost leak, you just haven't found it yet.

well today the check engine light came on and the code was for the o2 sensor so i took it off the elbow and drove around the block. Low and behold car built more boost then it did right befor that. can anyone give me some suggestions on that? and i still cant find any boost leaks but i dont hae a pressure tester ether. any help is appreciated thanks
