so i spent the afternoon trying to figure out how to wire this gauge because i dont have an instruction manual. anyhow.
they gauge turns on when i turn the car on. so that was successful. but i cant get it to read anything other than 1 bar of vacuum. i think something is wrong with my sensor.
here is how i have it wired.
from the gauge:
red-ignition
black-ground
white- connects to sender from sensor
purple - ???? not sure
from the sendor
vac line- hooked up to a vac line
black- ground
red-battery
white-sender to gauge.
here is the problem. when the white wire isnt hooked up it reads 2.0 bar with the warning light (pegged high)
when i hook up the white wires, it pegs low and reads -1 bar. whether the car is on or off or at any boost level.
when i unhook the black wire on the sensor, the gauge immediately goes back to 2.0bar witht he warning light.
when i unhook the red wire on the sensor, the gauge does not change. it remains at -1bar. i tried hooking it up to the igntion but that doesnt do anything either.
i figured with the car not running it should read 0 psi, and with it running it should be around -.4 bar. but it always stays at -1bar.
any ideas?
