here is the skinney

I have the 2 sinoid wires ( white green)/white red) and belave one trigger wire (yellow) form the combo meter to the speed sensor, but there are 2 extra wire at the speed sensor that will not sure what they do the tsrm does not say red and black ?

this is real pain and i just don't have the time for this stuiped shit right now

I don't have PPS hooked up in my car so all I did was apply power to the selonoid for a few mins and turned the steering wheel back and forth a few times and that seemed to lock mine in the wide open position.

As I said in my PM use the new Ecu to run it all you need is an output that can do a Speed/PWM table.

DON'T leave it connected too long it'll fry the Solenoid on the Rack..

--------------------
Speed KMH/MPH----------Voltage at Solenoid

0------------5.4
20/12----------4.7
30/18----------4.3
40/24----------3.9
50/31----------3.6
60/37----------3.0
80/50----------2.6
90/55----------2.3
100/62---------2.0
110/68---------1.8
120/74---------1.6

Only measured it to 120 Dave, these are the stock settings from a Gz20 soarer I figure it at least gives a starting range to work with then I'll trim mine in the real world for the "feel" I want (something you can't do with the stock controller) :)

I went this way for a few reasons, one being my car wasn't PPS another being I'm using the Chev Pwr steer Pump and had NFI how the pressures were going to match up if at all.

There's quite a difference in steering load between 1 and 5v.

Agreed... I forgot to plug in the connector to the rack after one of my rebuilds. Instant steering a la 1950.

LMAO yep know exactly what you mean!!

I hooked mine up to a 5v line initially so could only get 4.98v out of the PWM channel and it was unacceptably heavy for every day driving, I was starting to consider turning the pump faster to lighten it up when Rob suggested an 8v line and bingo niceNeasy to steer :D

this would be really easy if i had a 92 5 spd engine harness that way i could trace it through the car but i don't i have an auto harness to use as spare parts and connectors witch is different

i know it sends 5 volts veva signale but is the other wires just power and ground one being 12 v or 5 volt ? and the other earth

i am so tired latly my mind in drunk and beaton by lack of sleep to get thsi pile of crap done

Today, I found a replacement solenoid from a 91 Lexus (4-door). I clipped the wires off of the body harness (after the connector w/6" of wire). It looks like the harness connection side has similar colors to my 91 Supra. The wire colors are light-green/red and light-green/green. I am assuming that they match up to the Supra's body harness White/Red and White/Green.

I guess another assumption is that the rack has to be dropped, in order to remove/replace the solenoid. Anyone already done this that has any tips/advice?

Thanks ...replaced the solenoid and soldered in the new wiring. Has improved, but still not the PPS I remember. It's easier to turn the wheel, but still not as easy as it was when PPS worked before. I may need to swap in the spare PS pump and see what that does.
