Ok, I have exhausted the search button, as well as myself and have no really found the answers I am looking for besides "buy a new harness". To be completely honest I'm too broke and don't mind rewiring, so in that case...

My issue is that I have a 92' n/a that I just bought a 7mgte engine, with the engine came the harness and jdm ecu (both engine and ecu are same year). The harness and ecu are both 89+ as they are gray plugs. The only problem is that the engine harness will not plug into the 92' body harness. Is there a diagram or any help on rewiring the 89' harness to the 92'? or are my only other 2 options to either 1. trace the wires back to their appropriate sources and then rewire accordingly, or 2. buy a new harness which I don't have money for now...? If I could even get the wire harness diagram (if one exists) so that I can rewire according to the diagram I have for the 92' body. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even if someone happened to have a 7mgte 92' harness willing to sell or trade, that would be awesome. I've got an 89+ harness as well as 7mge harness and ecu and block...

wait what?

The engine harness is seperate and ISOLATED from the body electrical harnesses. Yes there is more than one.

So what plug are you talking about? There are none by the fuse block.

im not exactly sure what your talking about but if your harness too short to reach under the dash then this could be your problem, because a jdm engine harness came out of is lhd (left hand drive) car and your harness will need to be extneded about 18 inches to fit and that you should be able to do your self, jus extend it one wire at a time. :) goog luck

Yes I am extending it, but the actual plugs form the engine harness (minus the 3 that plug into the ecu) do not quite mate up with the body harness plugs... I will post some pics when I get home. However I do know that the body harness plugs are diff than the ecu plug... in fact you would have to be an idiot not to figure that out, but there are plugs included with the engine harness that plug in to various parts of the engine body... I guess I will just have to wait to show pictures...

Didn't mean to come off as a dick in the last post... Trying to figure out the wiring is going to be more of a hassle than spending the $350 to get a harness... just ordering one tomorrow. Thanks anyways guys!:biglaugh:

For future reference, I can make adapter harnesses.

I did not advertise this earlier because I figured nobody would be interested.

They are just mini plugs that change the year as needed for the Body and Dash connectors. The cost is around $150 shipped which is just basically all labor.

PM me if you want to sell that 89 turbo harness and your old 92 na harness/ecu.

i just got a 86 supra and its my first project ever. im sure the reason why its not starting it because of something electrical. the dude before me crossed wires and made a push button start instead of fixing the ignition switch. maybe that could of shorted something out cuz my batteries are both dead. yesterday got a new one and still doesnt start. it only cranks but no turning over. everything electrical works inside and out the car but just wont start. could i need a new alternator? starter? wiring? fuses? could use some help please
