Yes you can youll just have unused tranny wires

Depends on if you have a early or late 89 (gray or yellow plug). And what ecu your going to use.

Again what harness is already in the 89? yellow or gray plug?

As for the tranny, RotaryHead is correct, auto harness will work on a manual. You will just have some extra plugs that are not going to be used.
