I've searched around and not sure if I passed over it or the info just isnt there.

I'm running the dual contour fans, right now they are wired in with the (I think there called) the a/c fan relays.

They worked great at first, but not kicking on now.
I just want to rewire the fans to a switch, I DO NOT want them temp controlled. Any information on wiring them safely to a switch would be greatly appriciated. ( type of relays, switch, etc)

i would not recomend doing this. ground your ground wire (if fan turns backwards its not your ground)get a 2 way toggle switch from local parts house. run positive wire to toggle from fan, run wire from other post on toggle to your positive side of batt. easy enough. just dont forget to turn your fans on! or off!

hope this helps. pretty simple. it was larger but since it was a bmp photobucket shrunk it way down. purple lines are 30 amp fuses. this is how mine is wired. i used the stock radiator fan switch already on the thermostat housing of the 7mgte for my trigger, but am going to install a lower on and off temp switch from summit.

The car gets driven maybe a handfull of times a month. I would rather have a switch I can 110% depend on, rather than the few chances I get to drive the car, have something happen, 1 less thing to worry about lol

awesome!!

Should there be a fuse before both relays or is just 1 ok, like in the drawing? and I'm guessing 30amp relays or higher?

i put 1 fuse per relay, 30amp. and yes 30amp relays. i am using the contour fans myself. 1 required a 15am and the other a 20amp at turn on. dont know why. i just run 30amp on each one and never had a problem with it. use 10awg wire if you can. i got pics of my install in my cardomain page for my 84 mk2 if you want to see pics.

also, since my a/c has been eliminated, can those relays I was previously using be removed? or are they a factor with other parts of the car?

dont know. i dont have a mk3. i have a mk2 and used the 30 amp relays by the foglights in autozone. like $5 each and i had bought sockes for them online but you can just use female spades to connect to the male pins comeing off of them instead no probs. thats how i did the electric fan relay on my 64 c10

your mk2 is......I dont think theres a word in the english vocab that can truly describe it, but its absolutely amazing! I think I might have to come down to a FL meet just to see tha beast in person.

Getting ready to head outside and wire it up, hopefully I'll be able to have the top out in time to enjoy the rest of the day, THANKS!!! much appriciated

oh and to save me some time, if you happen to know off the top of your head. Whats the wiring color combo for the contour fans plug, which is pos / neg?

i dont remember the wires but as i recall ground was either brown or black. the other color was positive. just touch to the battery first to check rotation. just takes a sec. i grounded my fans to the radiator itself on one of the stock fanshroud bolt locations. just need to find a havy gauge 2 wire connector to wire in for the 2 positive leads so it will be able to just unplug the 1 plug to remove the radiator with the fans attached. lol. all in time. car isnt done but it is getting a HUGE jump toward completion over the next couple months. i got a huge bonfire under my ass now that there is a good 7mgte in the bay. still waiting on my rear bbk adaptors and still got stuff to buy for the megasquirt and misc other crap.
