I was wondering, since all the MKIII's used wiper arms that require screw on style wiper blades, has anyone tried swapping newwer style arms onto their cars? If so what worked for you? This would give MKIII owners more choices in wiper blade replacement. It would also eliminate the use of an adaptor that can lead to 'skipping'. I was at first thinking the 94 and newer MKIV's would work. Then a customer bruoght an arm in for a Corolla and it had a similar shape as ours. I am going to try out the arms from my wifes Camry when I get home to see how it fits.

The screw in style that is on there are just a pain to install. I have also had issues with the screws backing out in the past.

OEM arms, OEM blades, OEM replacements, OEM screws (with the OEM lock washers).

There is nothing for the MA70 that will wiper better.

That is pure scientific opinion. :icon_razz
Although some of it may be based in truth. I will have to find out.

Adapters look like balls.

I've never had new OEM wipers skip or not clear either.

Obviously my post was an opinion, and I'm sticking to it. Any sort of an adapter makes Jeff cry inside.

(Although the Icon's are actually fantastic wipers, I won't disagree there, I just don't think they look any better).

the stock wipers have adapters, but they're not removable ;)

I had a stock rear wiper and one stock front wiper on my car when I got it, they chattered bad...

if I could get away with not using an adapter at all, I would though..

here's my icons... (I have more pics, but you get the idea)

This is why I am trying to figure if some newer J-hook style arms would fit our cars. Hmm....my wifes Camry is sitting outside.....

Damn, I just fixed my wipers so that I can use the j hook type of blades. You can't even tell I put adapters on, they look stock. I think I still have the box somewhere, I'll try to find it tomorrow.
