Can i get away with 205/65/16s?
There is someone local selling blizzaks in that size.

You'll be fine, but the speedo will show a bit incorect speed. Search for online tire size calculator. Talking about your mentioned tire size, you'll be driving 2-3km/h faster then your speedo shows.

205/55 here; Blizzaks (no studs) up front and studded snows (don't remember what make or model right now) in the rear. I've never had a problem in the snow... well, except for that time I was still on my summer tires. :icon_razz

Just wanted to end this thread with my final solution.
I did a bunch of research for the best bang for my buck winter tires.
I bought i set of studdable General Altimax Snows. (No studs installed though)
I finally got to give em the ultimate test with the big storm we had last week.

I am thoroughly impressed and totally satisfied on how these tires performed!
I have yet to get stuck, and i've gone through some deep snow, both on the highway and pulling out of snowed over parking spots.
Acceleration was a whole lot usable and braking was also very satisfactory.
Even when having a little snow fun, the control is a lot more trustworthy :)

A+ equipment, this supra went from useless in the snow to a fully capable snow machine.
