Winshield wiper motor trouble

Ok so I changed out my wiper motor in my 88, lo and behold I get it back together and my wipers are off kilter, in the off position my blades are in the vertical position.

I tried changing the blades on the studs but they don't move at all. Right now they work but like I said in the off position they are nearly vertical.

I guess my ? is can I adjust this without having to pull the entire motor out again and disconnecting the linkage

Any suggestions. Also I don't know what year the new motor came out of but I had to cut the plastic from around the connector for my chassis plug to fit.

you need to pull the linkage off again and get it perfect. Unfortunately, it is a trial and error process. if you are off at all, the wipers won't return to bottom when off.


with that said, mine still require some more adjustment...

Yea, getting them to park properly is indeed a trial and error process. Nowhere near as bad as the old GM cars that parked under the cowl when they were off... that was tough as hell to get right.
